I can see one extra cart fee since you needed another cart for the spectators

I agree with this. But they still charge everyone the same price - if you ride with a buddy they don’t charge you 1/2. It’s the same price

I think just about every course has a “rider” fee that’s usually around $20

I don’t disagree that exceptions should be made for little kids but the kid in the pro shop was probably just doing his job and not being confrontational like you described. If anything you’re being argumentative asking for special treatment and trying to get out of paying a $17 fee

I play tenison all of the time, they must take a course in idiocy. The one that always gets me (among many) is how they are always like we need the carts back at 5. Oh you mean 45 min before sundown?? They are such a pain

This is the one thing about my local muni that really gets me. I understand, you want to get off work early. Who doesn't? But it's a fricking muni and I pay taxes to support this place on top of my green/cart fees which compare to much nicer munis in the metro. It's always the same old lazy fricker working the register "we need them carts in by 7:00!" in the middle of summer. Well fricking hire some min. wage highschoolers to barn the carts, you shitdick!? The back 9 isn't a bad walk, but still.

I only play there when I have no other options.

I've never been to a place that said that about the carts. So, that fascinates me. What are they going to do to you if you don't have them back? I would think I would say sure, then just play my normal round and get back when I get back.

If they have a problem with the carts being back after 7, don't book a tee time after 3. In the summer, you can start as late as 4 and finish. That's 6 more tee times if you are conservative with your start intervals. Potentially, that's 24 more green fees that can go towards paying the cart guys to work until 8:30.

Believe me. Your solution makes perfect sense. Hell, summertime here you can play until almost 9:00. All the other metro munis have guys working until well after dark to accommodate.. but not these guys (Westwood GC in Norman)

I must say though, I played there last Thursday and the greens are in the best shape of any area muni at the moment.

First of all it wasn’t a kid this guy was at least 40.

Second of all one $17 fee for the extra cart is fine, they charged both of us $17, so $34 total for the extra cart, that is not right and I can guarantee it isn’t the actual policy.

Again they charged us MORE for the extra cart than if we had paid for a 3rd golfer which would also take an extra cart.

And I promise he was being a confrontational arse, it’s like he knew it was ridiculous and immediately got defensive on purpose, I’m not a confrontational person (which is why I let it go and didn’t push the argument).

I didn't like playing Tenison when I lived in Dallas either. Like you said, bad service, I much preferred Cedar Crest and Steven's Park. Either way it is bs when courses force carts in when there is daylight out. I worked at a university course in college and loved it because the later they were out the more hours/pay I got. People are just lazy nowadays.

I agree it is ridiculous.... but pretty much everywhere has a "rider" fee regardless of the cart situation.

Even if your playing by yourself and bringing your wife, she is paying the fee if the pro shop guy decides to be an arse hole and enforce the rules
