Going to Vegas for a few days in late August. Need opinions on other courses to play. I will have a rental car; so short travel is fine. Should have time for two rounds.

I have previously played:

Wolf Creek
Coyote Springs
TPC Las Vegas
Royal Links
Bears Best
Desert Pines
Bali Hai
Red Rock Arroyo
Reflection Bay

I've always heard good things about Paiute or something like that. It's up in the mountains I believe.

Paiute Wolf is very nice. Mountain range in the background makes for some great backdrops for Photos.

Cheaper route and tough course...Badlands

My favorite, if you can get on...dragon Ridge,
The views of the strip is amazing and the course is lined with homes that range from 3-40 million.

When that happened? We have an annual golf outing in Vegas and hadn't played there in 5 years. I just remember almost every fairway lined with ravines. Also Bali hai was supposed to be closing for three years now.

From what I've played

Shadow creek
Wynn
Cascata
Paiute
Rio Secco
Bali Hai

In that order. You'll need someone to get you on Shadow Creek, all the rest are public. You really can't go wrong with any of the courses mentioned though.

Paiute Resort has awesome views. Last time I played there we got a free airshow from some F-18's buzzing the course.

Rio Secco is closed until October.

Cascata, which I have not played, is awesome (from the guys I played with at Rio Secco). Caddies are required at Cascada.

If you can have your pro call and get you on Southern Highlands then definitely do it. It is a great club out there. Otherwise, try Cascata. We had a lot of fun out there and it is much better than Dragon Ridge. Dragon Ridge is quirky and just not that great of an experience for what you are paying. Have fun!
