From a revenue standpoint liv golfers have passed WNBA players for the most overpaid athletes.

Surprised he didn’t lose his temper and throw a club at the negotiation.

Hard to blame hatton. He’s never winning a major anyway so doubt he’s worried about the exemptions and gets a fat check.

Giving Monahan credit for only losing 2 players is asinine. He's already lost a large number of top golfers, there's only about 3-4 left that he hasn't already lost. The fact that he still has a job right now is bizarre.

Well, I obviously wasn’t talking about all of the players from the start. Since they’ve implemented the no-cut limited field signature events, they’ve done a pretty good job of keeping their top guys in place. A lot of guys actually had “talks” with LIV and decided to stay.

Xander, Finau, Hovland, Fleetwood, Wyndham Clark, Cantlay, Jason Day, probably more..

Add in the fact that PGA is about to get a major investment from Strategic Sports Group ahead of their negotiations with PIF. Jay might actually keep his job after all

The signature events are a BS attempt to funnel guaranteed money to the boys club. Monahan is attempting to play both sides of the fence, but it's because he put himself there. He's attempting to promote PGA as a better tour because the full fields and cuts allows for Cinderella stories. On the other hand, we have these signature events without cuts that guarantee money just to show up. I can think of another tour that was dragged through the mud for having a similar model.

The PGA has been "about to" do shite for quite a while now and there's been hardly any result from it. They were about to sue LIV whom, according to Monahan, were an "irrational threat". Then they were about to merge with them before 12/31. Now they're about to get major investment from FSG. Whoops, originally it was going to be from $3-7 BN but is now less than $3 BN.

Btw, two of the guys you listed -- Hovland and Xander -- have publicly spoken out about Monahan's lack of leadership. Given those comments, it's not inconceivable to think that players are looking to leave because they don't trust Monahan. Regardless of how PGA/LIV ultimately plays out, Monahan has been a disaster.

Do I think he's had a tough hand dealt to him? Sure, LIV has more money than God and that's tough to compete with. But he has truly made some adolescent decisions since the beginning.

I'm not a fan of LIV and its arcade-style model. I just wanted the strongest PGA Tour we can have and nothing leads me to believe that Monahan can get us there. He's indecisive and flip-floppy during literally the most tumultuous period the PGA has seen.

Not enough is talked about how the Euro/DP World Tour really screwed up by not siding with LIV from the outset of all this. I can understand the PGA Tour initially taking a hostile stance with what was at stake, but the DP World Tour makes zero sense. The PIF gave them a huge lifeline they could have turned into much more relevancy.

Their "Strategic Alliance" gives their top 10 a chance at making the PGA Tour, and it seems like those European guys are going to take them up on it. Just look at the leaderboard for the last couple of weeks.

And what do they get in return? A bunch of guys ranked around 125-150 from the PGA Tour are now exempt into DP World Tour events. Hardly needle movers for the DP World Tour. If they had aligned with PIF, you could have seen guys like Brooks, Bryson, DJ, Cam Smith, etc. teeing it up occasionally in Europe to keep world ranking points instead of Harry Higgs and Charley Hoffman potentially jumping over the pond.
