Headed to Houston next week and looking to play. Is Tour 18 worth it? I’ve always wanted to play it and the fees seem very reasonable. Anyone play it recently with some insight? If not that course, what would be the best option for the price.

I enjoyed it when I played it 10 years ago, I birdied 17 sawgrass which was nice. 11 at August fricked me up :csb:

I haven’t played super recently so I can’t comment on its current condition (winter just ending, recent freeze, etc) but I do think it’s worth the price to play.

I’ve played it a ton over the years and it’s usually in good shape and fun to play those hole replicas that you’ve seen the pros play on TV.

It’s usually worth the money as far as conditions and hole layouts but if you’re playing on a weekend, prepare for a 5 hour round.

Haven't played there since LSU played TTU in the Texas Bowl back in 2015, but it was fun.

It's a fun layout. Just be prepared to wait on every shot.

Think it will be crazy busy on a Tuesday afternoon?

This rep is what has kept me from playing out there in all the years I've lived in the area. But with the current golf boom, this is basically true for every public course these days, so I need to get over it and give T18 a try.

T18 is uniquely slow compared to wildcat or cypress wood

I think you'd be fine at this time. It's never been busy when I've played in the afternoon during the week. Just make sure there isn't a tournament going on and I think you're good to go.

It’s worth playing for the experience. I’m not sure if it’s gotten better, but a few years ago they jammed way too many people on it. Felt sort of gimmicky/touristy. They were starting people on the front and the back so when you got to the turn it was a complete cluster. 5-6 hour round.

I’d play on a weekday to try and avoid some of that.

Playing on Tuesday afternoon. Hoping it will be less crowded considering it’s Tuesday.

Tuesday afternoon plus there is a medium chance of rain, so you should be good to go. Let us know how it is.

Yea I don’t like seeing the chance of rain that afternoon. Coming over from Mississippi (we do have work going on in Houston for me to check on) but hate to make the drive and get rained out. Fingers crossed but nasty weather could come.

It’s worth playing. The front 9 is way more fun than the back in my opinion, so it can get boring on the back when it’s playing slow.

You mean just like it is on damn near every other public course on the weekends right now?
