Seems like a good deal overall. Do a search on IG and see if there’s a ton of people tagging the location could be a good way to judge the overall tournament/event pressure.

The other one I was thinking of was woodforest but have no clue what the initiation is.

I think Woodforest is up there with TWCC and waitlisted. If I do go to that level at some point, it will be TWCC. Would be extremely convenient for me. 3 to 5 courses depending on membership level all within 10 or so minutes. And know a few of my son's friend's families are members.

Lake Windcrest is part of the Invited Club Group. They recently sold The Woodlands Country Club to the Arcis Group. I know that Invited Clubs at that $1500 Initiation Tier will often run specials, make a one-two year commitment and it’s waived or eventually reimbursed. They will probably also make you commit to a 12 Month term. The yearly dues will be subject to increase every year. Also, even though it’s a “private” club ask about how many outside tournaments do they allow on the course. Other Invited Clubs do have outside golf tournaments/groups that sometimes book on weekends which is ridiculous.

Yeah, it's a 12-month commitment. If I up the membership level, then another year commitment starts at that point. That works for me. And she already told me the dues will increase starting Jan 1. So, taking that into account and realize it'll happen every year.

Do you know what TWCC initiation and dues are? Someone told me the 3 course tier was 30k. Unsure of the monthly.

I know the guy I'd talked to about it who just joined a few months ago right before it was sold said he paid $15k initiation (they offered a 0% payment plan with that) and it was l seem to recall like $600-$700 a month. And that got him 3 of the courses excluding Player and the Tournament Course. Not sure if he had any restrictions outside of that.

I believe that initiation just went up to 20k for that level, 30k for the next, and 50k for the highest. But that's just what I recall from offhand conversations months ago.

Got to play Lake Windcrest yesterday. Other than me being garbage, it's a nice course. Some blemishes on a few greens, but actually played with an employee who mentioned that is a remnant of a bad dry period last year and isolated to one or two greens. Hopefully joined up this week. Appreciate the insight from everyone.

That doesn't seem too bad, especially compared to Houston area courses.

Have thought about Windcrest to have a reason to try and play more golf, but I have very young kids and not much free time. May start with TWCC social or sports membership and move up when able.

Idk why the post didn’t actually post.

In 2022 full golf was around $50k and $1k or so a month.

The $15k back then was $500 or so and just two courses I think and you couldn’t play Friday PM- Sunday AM.
