Friend of mine owns it. I talked to him a couple weeks ago and he said the greens are coming back. They should be good by now. He said somebody sprayed something on them to kill mushrooms a while back and it messed them up.

The greens are coming back but still in rough shape. I played yesterday and have been playing weekly the last few weeks. I agree some are unplayable……they need more time. Rest of the course is good.

They are putting pin placements in the best areas of the greens…..

My best guess would be this time next month we should see a major difference.

I just finished walking an evening 9 holes. I took some pictures of the conditions so you all can see what it’s looking like.

Agreed. Greens actually roll much better than they look. Overall course is good. Greens are growing in.

It’s a few months away from being really good. The greens are rough right now. By this fall it will be fantastic!

It won't be that long. A few weeks I think.

Played a few days ago. Grass has grown in nicely on all of the greens. They still have a few rough spots, but your putts will roll true for the most part… just a little slow.

Man, I played last Sunday and the greens were some of the worst I’ve ever played. A tournament they had on the books cancelled because they were so bad. I love the course and hope like hell they comeback good and that the place is successful long term, but they need a lot of warm wet weather and some sunshine. Probably a really good punch or two as well. The bunkers were like unimproved Destin beach sand too.

I played yesterday afternoon with a group from work. 18 of us. Greens are growing back. They aren’t there yet. They are slow. They really don’t roll all that bad. We made several putts in our group from distance. We played a 2 man scramble match play. Both teams shot 68!

Several areas near the collars are where the issue is with the grass not fully back.

Rest of the course I would say is in solid condition.

Bunkers are still like a beach. But just don’t hit in em and you’re good.

Yep played this AM. Can confirm. Greens not bad but not great. Everything else was in solid shape. Mid-Late July it will be all systems go. Fun course!

I ended up getting a last second spot at Pelican Point… the pictures of the greens and some of the comments made me reconsider

No bias here… the last few months I agree they have been in awful shape.

I played Saturday and they were really slow… but rolled true.

Today they must have cut them down. The grass has completely grown in on all greens, and only rough spots are on the edges. They have sanded those areas so really these spots don’t affect anything.

No more blaming any putts on a bump. Greens are very fair.

The rest of the course as mentioned above is in great shape. Tee boxes are cut, fairways beautiful, rough is a consistent fair length, traps are good. The “beaches” mentioned above are the last ones that have been filled in since reopening and a simple fix is to simply rake and place or drop out of those until they are packed down in a month or two.

Burky and staff doing a great job. Should be in pristine shape in a few weeks!
