I was checking out some postings here the other day and read where someone was having issues hitting ball first with their irons. I too suffer from that same issue and I was really making an effort to hit down on the ball first, sometimes with success, most of the time not. Anyway, I saw a poster who stated they look a couple of inches in front of the ball when they swing. I tried it on the range the other day and today for my first 9 of the year (courses just opened up here near Chicago). I hit some real crisp iron shots today, for me anyway. I know it was one 9 hole round, but man it felt good, so thank you to who ever that was. I am going to keep trying that when our permanent tee time start next weekend.

There are many good practical tips on here. Golfers sharing what works for them.
In general, the golf board is a good conversation about all things golf.
I always have to remember that not every golfer has touched 86mph on a launch monitor like I have.

Hit some balls with your feet together.
Move the ball a little forward.

Don’t pick your head up after contact. Let your trail shoulder pop your head up for you.

What does this even mean? I assume you mean clubhead speed? With what club?
Is this an inside joke or something? Sorry Im just confused and want to know what the reference is.
Thanks!

I’m not the greatest golfer in the world.
I do not have tour speed, but I love golf.
There are all types of golfers here. Guys who can swing a driver at 130mph on a monitor. Guys who are not long, but can make a bunch of good pitches, chips, and putts. Guys who can do it all- 350 down the middle, 160 yards with a 3/4 56 degree wedge, and make everything inside 20 feet.
I was being self-deprecating regarding my lack of club head speed and distance which I make up for by 3 putting once a round.
When I made a hole in one on a 142 yard hole with a 7 iron, a poster said, “was your husband with you to see it go in?”
Just making fun of myself for going to Club Champion for a fitting instead of taking a series of lessons.

Gotcha! No sweat man. I get it. Getting fit at CC will help your game.
I play w guys that don’t hit it far (neither do I) but they are low single digits. Short games are elite.

It might be a little "advanced," but MikeBenderGolf on Instagram is ALL about the hands/wrists leading the club at impact. This brings the clubhead to the ball before the ground. Takes a lot of practice. I just starting to work on it, but when I get it right, it is PURE.
