streamsong is fairly cheap in the summer as well ... yes, it's hot and muggy, but you're riding

Can only walk the Black. I'd highly recommend walking with a caddy on those courses. Just got back 2 weeks ago.

Northern Michigan near Traverse City

Great area and tons of great golf, Arcadia is killer, between Chicago and Grand Rapids is a lot of good golf going up the east side of the lake.

When's the last time you played the Dye course? Before or after renovation? Just curious because most people I know think it is an enjoyable course in very good shape.

played it last summer ... i mean, it's not horrible, and the condition is great, and the green fee was maybe $150 (can't remember), but i didn't walk away thinking 'wow' to any degree ...

I agree. I guess I should have prefaced it to price point. I agree it is not $150 course (layout wise). My cost to play it has ranged from free to $75, so in that price point, I think it is a great course.

I mean heck, queens harbor and South Hampton are $80 for a Sat AM tee time.

Wolf Creek is a must.

I played in August. It was a dry heat

Did this several years ago. The Thermometer in the car read 118 on the way up. My broker rep got us on for free. After 9 holes, the course staff was like “ok folks, we’re shutting it down because of the heat. You gotta go”

Going to be playing Capitol Hill Judge course on the way to the Masters and Grand National Lakes course on the way back. I'll give a report when I get back.

I missed out on Arcadia when I was in the area. I would like to make it back there. Nice area in the summer. Played Cog Hill #4 on the way down through Chicago. I enjoyed the course and conditions were superb. Best bunkers I have played out of, and it was many.

Scottsdale.

I went the last week of June last summer and while it is hot, it’s not bad at all if you stay hydrated and play in the morning. We tee’d off at 9a 3 days in a row. When on the course/grass, it was fine. However, when walking to the rental car on the pavement after the round is a different story haha.

Played Sedona Golf Resort, We Ko Pa and Troons North. Saved around $500 in green fees compared to their peak season rates. Unbelievable trip.

eh, rtj ain't the best place for a summer trip ... it isn't the worst (it's my home course in the ham), but there are plenty of decent deals in the southeast, esp streamsong ... i have no idea if the 3 top 100 public courses in mississippi offer discounted fees in the summer, but it wouldn't surprise me ...

I’m trying to get back next year if late this season doesn’t work. We are trying to do a Crystal Downs, Kingsley Club, and both Arcadia’s once the South Course is open, the Traverse City and surrounding areas has some amazing golf. The only trip I have on the calendar so far this year is back to Ballyneal north of Denver CO in Holyoke in late June to play in a member/guest, gonna be a blast, looking to add another good trip or two for 2018.

Might be headed up to Bandon Dunes in Oregon this summer. Looks like a nice setup. I'm personally a big fan of Desert Golf but I wouldn't go in the middle of summer. Streamsong in Florida looks very nice as well.
