There’s an amphitheater at LSU that doesn’t get used. There’s a perfect, shaded spot in a bowl behind CP clubhouse BR Art gallery that could be used. Bottom line is outdoor concerts aren’t good in LA climate. Look how bad Live After 5 has fallen off!

Because they are never working!

Also all of the nice homes along the lakes will have their views blocked by overgrown vegetation once the rock banks are installed.

You may or may not be aware that City Park Golf Course is on the National Register of Historic Places. If the course is substantially altered, as it would be with a three-hole pitch and putt instead of nine holes, it would be removed from the list.

What are the benefits of being on that registry?

BRAF CEA didn’t pass. In fact a commissioner made a substitution motion to hire Sosaki direct by BREC to develop the Master Plan. Which passed. BRAF blocked out.

Sounds like best case scenario. BREC, who will hear out golfer's concerns and will likely keep the course footprint as-is, maintains control, and the rest of the park gets the master plan it needs.

Hopefully part of that master plan is to devote funds to improve the golf course and the lake/trees/landscaping, and not whittle away at it.

The benefits of being on the National Register of Historic places are mainly recognition and prestige. City Park was one of the first--if not THE first-municipal golf courses listed.
However, being on the list does not guarantee the course can't be destroyed by substantially changing its character. That is why we have to work to preserve it.

Hell if they could fix the greens and pretty the course up a bit it would be a nice little track to burn an hour or so.

A lot of the BR area High Schools use it for matches so keeping up would be a plus

And at very least redo #7s green that thing is the size of a dinner plate

Yet another end around by a handful of people in town who are dead set on closing that golf course. Good lord it’s getting tiresome.
