Playing on Tuesday with a group consisting of me (11), a 14 who rarely RARALY plays and is probably closer to an 18 than a 13, a 6 who isn't very long and an 8.
Our home course is 6200ish and I am trying to decide on the blue (6600) or white (6100) tees at Steelwood. When I travel I usually prefer to enjoy myself than just grind hitting driver long iron all day so leaning white tees but was curious what others might think.
The 5i rule for me would have me playing white tees without question.

The 14 will struggle big time at 6600 yards

Play the whites. The greens are challenging enough by itself. My biggest advice is hit driver as little as you can. It plays short for the whites but the greens are very challenging, especially if it’s your first time. Don’t go long on 6.
