Stability Shaft for Putter

I'm sure this topic has been discussed but I couldn't find anything..
I was just fitted for a Bettinardi Queen B6 SBS and it was suggested that I also install a Stability Tour shaft from BGT. I've spent a few days reading about the advantages and as far as I can tell, the only negative is the price ($249.99). I'm usually a sucker for these kinds of things so I'm pretty excited to get it but was wondering if any of you have any experience. TIA

Personally I don’t see any advantage in performance. A putter shaft doesn’t bend. Something that doesn’t bend is already stable.
The graphite shafts will offer a different feel, and if that’s what you want it for by all means. I do not think it’s going to make you have a better stroke or putt better though.

Supposedly it helps return the face square at impact and is more forgiving on off-center hits. Though I agree it doesn't seem like a steel shaft bends much.

Oh I know what they say it does. I just don’t buy it. It’s a shaft that doesn’t bend, either steel or graphite. They do tend to give a little more feedback than a steel shaft and personally I like the reduced glare of a matte black shaft, but I’ve hit many of them and they’re not worth $250 as all they do it feel slightly different.
How quickly the face returns square and forgiveness (MOI) is determined by head shape and weighting, not the shaft.

The B6 is a great putter... I will echo that I can't see where the graphite shaft will change anything other than feel.

Appreciate the feedback. I may hold off and see how I like the putter without the shaft

They sent us a putter with a regular steel shaft, and the same putter with their BGT Stability shaft. I was hit or miss with the steel shaft, but made everything with the BGT.
Not sure if that means anything to you, but it kind of turned me into a believer.
ETA: Just tried it again. Missed all 3 with the steel shaft, made all 3 with the BGT shaft.

I have a Betti SS29 SB w/ stability shaft and it makes all the difference in the world. If you take any advice, take it from folks that have used the shaft rather than someone giving an opinion without having the experience of rolling with one. Nice choice in the putter. Beauty.

Thanks for the input. I'm likely going to add it in the next few weeks but I've loved the putter as is so far.

Putting is all about confidence, if that shaft helps that then go for it.

I put this shaft in mine, about 18 months ago, as well. I can honestly say it made me a better putter. I really can't speak to the science, bc I'm not that smart. It may be the look, confidence, etc, but it did feel different for me.

250 dollars for a putter shaft
Lee Trevino won 4 majors with a set of irons a guy was throwing in the trash.
Jack won a US Open with a Bullseye with a coat of white enamel on it out of a guys trunk.

I feel confident saying that none of us are or will ever be as good as those two, and 99% of us would get beat by them this afternoon

I understand that sentiment. But we often spend more on drivers or even driver shafts that are obviously used a fraction as much as the putter
Honestly, my main concern is to not look like a try-hard wannabe tour player. But if it truly helped my putting, which is extremely inconsistent, then $250 is a steal

Everyone is different. That’s why there are so many options out there. I’m glad you found something that works. I think a slab of led tape would do something similar to this shaft.
I’ve hit a putter with that shaft. I can see how it would help some people. Personally, I need more weight in the putter head not the shaft.

I have that shaft in my pxg mini gun boat. The way looked at was on average I play golf for $20 on average. If it helps me a few putts over its life in my bag it paid for itself. I’m also the type that am willing to pay up if I think it will help.

Just my .02 you should read Dave Pelz putting bible if you haven't, former NASA scientist.
Basically quantifying the factors that determine where putts go, I would imagine not even a robot putting machine would be at the level where putter shaft performance could have a quantifiable effect on putting outcomes, especially when you throw in the variables like footstep impressions, the donut hole effect, wind etc.
Even putter path is far less important than face angle at impact.

Wouldn't a stiffer steel shaft accomplish the same thing? Just put a X100 in there and cut it down. Be worth a shot at 1/10th the cost.
