1970 Wilson Button Backs. I've been playing them since 1970. The only changes I've made is shafts as I aged.

Had the 1973 model Staffs with matching woods. Loved those blades.

I probably have a set of 1973 model irons. I was collecting the Wilson clubs for a quite some time and having them restored.

When I was in college leaning to play I had a set of Callaway fusions, but I improved quickly and out grew the massive GI iron it was. Luckily when I was looking for something in a players, I stumbled upon a full set of MP-29s at the salivation army when I was there dropping off a couch. Been playing Mizuno irons ever since.

I have had more iron sets than I can remember, and the 990s had to be about the most meh set I have ever hit.

Favorites include Adams CBII, and original DCI black.

I still have my first set of irons I purchased in around 1986, 1985 Wilson Staffs 2-PW. I wouldn't mind having them re-chromed. Have you had this done or know of a place to have them done?

Yes, the button backs I am playing now were restored by The Iron Factory back in 2000-2001, they were my first set of button backs. They still look great, but I have to admit I do use iron covers, they make a huge difference when it comes to protecting classic irons.

I was using "The Iron Factory" back when I was active in restoring clubs, but Golfworks offers the same services but I have never used them. I have seen the results of their work and it is just as good as the Iron Factory.

Iron Factory

It looks like Golfworks is having covid labor issues. You might want to call them and have a chat.
