Played a 2 man scramble today. greens are in good shape after a deep tine airification, but the fairways are terrible. Hard pan everywhere, very little grass on the fairways. Not looking good.

That’s a bummer. I’m pulling for those guys; Abbeville needs that course to stick around. I believe those are the only paspalum greens around. As long as the greens are good, you can always bump it in the fairway to get a decent lie.

Word is the owner doesn’t want to spend money. Used parts on irrigation system . Head’s don’t rotate properly, standing water in one area and dry on the other side.

Too many poorly funded courses in South La ...y'all know who they are...join/play Cane Row and you'll enjoy a course that's going to be around for a long time and will see improvements that will make it the premiere golf course in South La.

Stop shilling your course, it’s tacky

TPC of La and Bayou Oaks South are both consistently in better shape than Cane Row is in, but I haven’t played golf since New Year’s Day so maybe Cane Row had some tremendous turn around condition wise in the last year. Cane Row is the best public course in the Lafayette area as the two best courses there are private.

Is it even the premiere public golf course in the Lafayette area? The wetlands and farm are typically nicer

And as far as south la… golden nugget, contraband, koasati, tamahka, tpc, carter, beaver, English turn have all typically been better than cane row over the last couple years

The farm’s greens are in fantastic shape. The fairways have been getting a lot of attention. More grass on the fairways equals a better lie where your ball sits up on nice grass that’s my personal preference.

Any one that doesn’t have concrete for a green.

OH. MY. GOD.
Thanks for the laugh.
I played it this past Friday.

Pros
Greens in good shape

Cons
It’s in new Iberia
Zero water available on the course to drink
Cart girl on first hole. Didn’t see her until 17th hole.
Fairways are rock hard. Grass is dying. Don’t even think of taking a divot. You might break a wrist. It’s that hard.
It’s located in new Iberia.

I can play the wetlands for cheaper. It’s a much better course.
