First thing I’d solve is the staff at Santa Maria blocking off chunks of tee times automatically every week for the same people. Every weekend.

That’s horseshite. They should have to call and make a fricking tee time like everyone else.

Worst kept secret ever and it’s gone on for a long time.

Why do they hate people who play golf? Because at City Park a functioning, revenue positive public course stands in the way of a much larger land use agenda. A century old municipal course with real users is inconvenient when the goal is to fold City Park into a conservancy, shift Lakes Project obligations onto BREC, and open the door to developer driven “visioning.” That’s why the planning process keeps trying to redefine an active course as “passive space.” That’s why real estate developers are being invited to steering committee meetings. That’s why the survey is being stretched beyond what it actually measured. That’s why the public keeps getting pushed into overflow rooms and muted livestreams.

They could sell the land across the street at Webb for a lottttt of money. More than likely enough to turn it into a lighted par 3 course or executive 9. You then save cart leases and others. That would be very profitable.

Is that for their year pass holders?

Just went on Golf Now and there’s just a single tee time before noon available at SM. That’s crazy.

It’s tough to get a decent tee time there unless you book early.

I’ve looked over a week in advance at SM recently and still most of the pre 10am tee times were booked.

Wrong. I played in one of the first groups for over a year. Those old men all have a calendar reminders and begin calling within seconds of being eligible. One was an ex teacher/bball coach at Baker, another was an appraiser and another was a retiree from John Carter, there are like 5 or 6 others.

Bitch about brec all you want but at least let it be true shite. They legit book those times, show up and play fast.

You are a man who’s in the know. And people bitch about them thinking they are pulling strings lol.

I’m grateful for Santa, Beave, City, Clark, Webb and the people that work there.

They are good people. Fill out the form telling them to leave City’s footprint alone.

I'm glad someone here understands how the maintenance side is going these days. just because in a pro shop guys eye it can be done doesn't mean that golf courses can actually do it.

i never attacked any golf course and i only called you out because you were crapping on SM for not being able to do work because they're too busy. stop pushing off when you get caught running your mouth about something you don't fully know about or understand. again, apples to apples. you're at pelican and SM is a totally different animal financially, amount of equipment, employee count and rounds played.

We need more holes in Baton Rouge proper, not less. Especially with LSU closing.

Wonder if the people that bought the old Sherwood CC have any interest or ability to open up 9 holes.

I would love for someone or BREC to purchase the golf portion of the Sherwood property.

When I moved from my house in Walker to Prairieville during covid I found a rain check to Sherwood I never hot to use.

But I agree. Sherwood was really good. Wish it was still and option.

Do you know how many tournaments Carter has on Mondays? A lot. Ask Pelican Point about this as well.
