what course are you at then if it's so good and stacked with people because all the public courses pay about the same and they all can't find good people. the public golf industry can't afford to pay $18-$25 per hour to every crew guy. so obviously were not comparing apples to apples.

Absolutely public courses can pay $16-$20. Better pay = better workers which means less can get more done. It’s a win win. You need to get with your GM if you aren’t doing that. It’s the only way you can get a better course with the numbers.

How would you really know? You dont work in maintenance. You're a typical proshop mouth. Stick to folding shirts and selling Pro V 1's

I glad you brought that up. I never thought about going to the GM for more money ???????. How could i not think of that?

Again, you're not comparing apple to apples. There's 4 courses around BR that have way more money than all the others and you're at one of them. Stay in your lane. The funny part is ive heard your members tell our proshop staff our greens rolled better than your new so called fancy greens and we're just a small speck in the BR golf sea compared to everyone else

Not sure why you take everything as an argument or like it’s a knock on you. Some people in our industry want other clubs to strive. I am one of them. If you don’t want help don’t come to message boards and complain.

Dont shy away now. You wanted to make a point you knew it could happen with what you were saying. Everyone has different situations and course with money spoil employees with bad information meaning you wont know what its like with less money but you know what? Its a greater feeling to make something good with nothing and get compliments from members at higher end courses saying how good we are questioning what yall are doing. Money ain't everything that makes a golf course good. Ive been in this business since 2001 and worked at one of those higher end courses

You're were not helping SM or anyone else with your comments so dont get on me anout what im saying. You were putting everyone down in this industry that isn't setup like your course. Theres a dozen cousres in the BR area that you feel should be at a standard that isn't achievable for everyone because you dont know anyone's situation but yours. We all help one another in the maintenance departments. Proshop staff always oversteps their boundaries just like you did in this thread. If you dont help maintenance on the course here or there then you dont need to be suggesting how we should be doing our jobs. You're known to do this often.

I know finances. I know budgets. I know the business. It CAN be done. It’s being done. But by the ones leading the charge not dogging it.

Just an FYI - the money isn't always there. Equipment cost have gone up 63% since 2020. so an equipment package that was $800,000 in 2020 is now 1.3 million. fertilizer prices with tariffs and wars are doubling. chemicals have gone up 20-25% in the last 2 years. Paying more doesn't always work out. you end up over payng most of the time for waht you get work ethic wise. Our industry does need to revamp is pay structure, but with all these increases it means green fees will go up and we all know how that will go over on the TD board. we are lucky to just break even year over year. I haven't had any capital improvement money in 3 years.

the golf business talks. i do know about you and you don't have a leg to stand on in the maintenance department. you'd be lost if you worked for a course that doesn't have pelican, ccl, brcc or uclub money.

we will have a good season and i hope your super and his assistants do too. they're all good ones so don't piss him off. hard to find good ones.

Obviously you do not know. Personal attacks on other courses and people is something the industry cannot afford to do. Have a good one.

There is nothing to settle. We were saying the same exact thing but I guess that’s not what he wanted to hear.
