Heading to SF in a few weeks. Probably going to play golf at Black Mesa. Any other suggestions for a course that is in good shape. I’m hearing that Towa is in bad condition. Thanks for your input!

I'm playing Las Campanas mid-July, but I know that's not all that helpful...

I looked at that course. Are you playing with a member?

I am. He hasn't said anything about the course not being in good shape, but I have the belief that that course should always be in pretty decent shape...

I play in the area annually, was there in May.
Never played Las Campanas but have played pretty much everywhere else.
Black Mesa is awesome, especially the back nine. The price is ridiculously good, costs a little under $100 while it would cost $300 in Phoenix. Difficult course, especially if you haven't played it before but they finally got gps in the cart, which was needed.
Paako Ridge is the most high end course in the area (I assume Las Campanas is too) - Is expensive but worth it if you want to spend the $250 or so. More mountain golf than desert. I think Black Mesa and Paako are about equal but different - Paako = Mountain/Resortish - Black Mesa = Desert/Canyons/Rustic
I personally love Sandia - It is on the far North side of ABQ so an easy drive from Santa Fe. Is always in tip top shape, has really nice amenities and is not easy at all like the score card shows...
You will read Twin Warriors is better than Sandia...That is bullshite.
I think Black Mesa, Paako and Sandia are the best.

I would echo all of that and add that the UNM course by the ABQ airport is badass and a tremendous value.
As far as Santa Fe goes, SFCC is public and I thought pretty damn good but is a tier below paako, Sandia, and black mesa.
Golf in NM isn’t plentiful but they have some really good courses at very affordable rates

UNM is great, and extremely tough, being long and all the greens are elevated as hell with deep bunkers all around them...Fairways are more straight forward than other local courses but you better drive it far in order to get it high enough to hit those greens on your 2nd shot.
Problem is I paid over a $100 this past month as an out of State player, it was half that a few years ago...Sandia is better for the price.

Just wanted to give a quick update in case anyone else is interested in golfing in Santa Fe. We played Black Mesa, Taos Country Club and Cochiti Golf Club. All 3 were in great shape and were a lot of fun playing. Each had their own style and were fun and challenging. I would play them again if I went back. By the way, the weather for July 4th weekend was amazing. Felt like spring time every day! Mid 80’s was the high and upper 50’s for morning lows. Hated to come back to south Louisiana. lol.

we've played the unm golf course a few times and we've enjoyed it, Lucked out and played Abq CC- it was tight, we've played the casino course (Sandia?) several times nice resort course that's wide open.

If you play Las Campanas, I suspect it will be your new favorite. It is the best golf complex in SF area, without question.
