Anyone played Ross Bridge, Oxmoor Valley (Ridge & Valley courses) recently? Have a group of 8 coming in next Thursday for a round at each course for a Father’s Day trip. Any course condition updates? Hopefully the weather cooperates as we all need a few days away for great golf and even better drinks!

Played Ross Bridge may 11. Great shape except there was a storm that had come through during the night so carts on path and some bunkers unplayable. Still needs a full season to grow in to the new greens so take one club short and it’ll bounce back to the hole. Fantastic track

Oxmoor courses are solid. Ross Bridge when it’s in tip top shape is phenomenal.

Ross Bridge had to completely re do the greens last year because someone put the wrong fertilizer on it and killed them. They were still working their way back early in the year but I bet they’re awesome right now. Really fun track

RTJ courses are generally in great shape. But man I hate the ridge, I don’t like being penalized for hitting the fairway and end up with a severe uphill, downhill or some combination of either with a sidehill lie.

Happens a lot there.

I kind of liked the Ridge Course when I played it. I don’t remember it being that severe of a penalty.

But I still would play the Valley if I only have one choice.

I will say I played from the wrong tees on the Valley Course, so be careful with that.

They have those suggestions on the first tee of which tees to play based on HC and I was kind of in between Orange and White so I played white because it was my first time. I’m a better driver than wedge player, so that inflates my HC. I ended up blasting multiple tee shots through the doglegs. If you can hit it 250 or so, you need to play the orange.

I’m playing Ross Bridge in about a month. Really excited about that.

Anyone do the par 3 course at Oxmoor? Wasn’t sure if it was something we could just hop on after our round Saturday and gamble with 8 guys and drink cold beer and have fun.

I’ve played Ross bridge the last two weekends. It’s in incredible shape. Greens are extremely fast

Did the backyard Friday afternoon. You can definitely just go walk into pro shop and get a tee time to walk it. All you need is a couple wedges and a putter

Orange is longer than the whites

What about the Oxmoor courses? Can I get on those as a single at like 5:00 on a Saturday afternoon and have my wife and daughter ride along?

Or is there another course in that area that would be easy to do that?

I’ve never tried honestly. I’d just book a tee time for around when you think you’d be able to go.

There’s no penalty for no showing but I’ll always call ahead if I can’t make it.

You could maybe try oak mountain but I haven’t been out there in a couple years.

Thanks for the advice.

One more question in regards to Ross Bridge. What tees would you all play? Handicap situation for our group - I’m a 6 and the next best is around a 9.5-10 and then it gets worst. There are 8 of us. Last time I played it, we played from the second set and it was brutal. It was 50 degrees and windy and rainy. But still long as hell. I looked at my handicap in comparison to the tees and it said from the third tees I would be a 6 at Ross Bridge, so I told our group that we were playing the third tees. Sound right?

We play oranges at most RTJ courses. The main group of guys I play with all hit it pretty long. I’d say shortest driver of all of us is around 280yds.

Ross Bridge is a very long course. If your group has some shorter hitters then bump it up to the whites and enjoy the round. It’s beautiful out there and no one wants to be frustrated because of a wrong tee selection.

The par 3 at Oxmoor was a freaking blast.

I hated the Ridge course, too many blind shots. The Valley course was really solid imo.

I played Ross Bridge Sunday and it is in great shape. The greens were pretty fast, probably because of the hotter/dry weather we have been having.

We actually played the White +, which is a combo of white and orange, which i think is a good distance for an array of handicaps.

I probably shouldve been playing the oranges but we had some high handicappers that dont hit it as far.
