You baws mad that you gotta pay the same price as a non EBR resident to play a BREC course that you already support via property taxes?

I am thinking about calling BREC and making a stink just for the helluvit. I think they need like a "free range balls if you present your ID" or "$5 off if you present your ID." Something.

I’m not mad. If it means the upkeep at Beaver, Santa Maria and Webb (only so much they can do there) is good I’ll pay what everyone else pays.

I guess OPs point is that you are technically playing more than everyone else.

your property taxes do not pay for your green fee or cart rental...they only support the maintenance staff and their ability to upkeep the courses.

Every other place I've ever been offers discounted green fees to residents. It's bullshite that your taxes go to the course and you pay full rates.

It is complete BS that you don't get a discount with ID.

then talk to your rep and have an addendum addressed in the next vote for reinstatement of the BREC bill to up your taxes again and have the new portion go towards your reduced green fee for EBR residents.

Or up the greens fees for non-residents while keeping the current ones the same for residents and use the "extra" money to improve the courses (bunkers). Local people get a "deal" and a better product.

Either increase in fees for non-residents, or free range balls before a round for residents. Something/anything would be nice.

Laughable to say BREC doesn't use the entire parish's tax dollars to maintain the most expensive expenditure known to modern hobbyist.

Shockingly enough BREC is just really badly run. They have a tremendous budget and largely do nothing with it but pay saleries.

In terms of Santa Maria I’ve always found it funny how they almost go out of there way to discourage involvement with the neighborhood.

Anyone think Mike Johnson being at Santa Maria going to have any kind of real impact? What's his position there? Only talked to him once and i sort of got the feel he's just working the pro shop.

It is terrible that Santa Maria doesn't have a top notch Marshal system in place to make sure the rounds are not 6 hours. There is no reason to have volunteers there. They need paid people who take their job seriously.

Seen him multiple times on Santa Maria blvd riding around with a dog in a golf cart. Looks like he’s got that under control
