We. Are. Talking. ABout. Pull. Hooks.... Look at your link, man. It shows exactly what we are talking about.

Image 1 is the pull hook. Out to in. Closed Face. It starts left and goes way left. FFS.

Please look at this picture from the article you liked and tell me where the club is making contact on every graphic that contains the word "hook"

You and Elle are using an illustration and a 2d still shot to explain impact location. If I have a 10 right path, I am not going to hit the outside of the golf ball if the face is shut.

If you have a 10 right path you're right, you're not going to hit the outside of the ball because you're going to hit your right ankle

10 right is not ridiculous by any means. It's not standard but you can hit the ball solid with that path.

If you're trying to say that you can hook a ball with a straight or slightly open path, that's fine. But that's not what we were trying to say here and it's not the typical swing of a pull-hook which starts left and goes more left due to a closed face continuing to close (gearing) and, usually a left path as well. We aren't talking extremes here in order to make a point.

It's not that uncommon. When people that hit a draw hit a pull hook, they almost always didn't come over the top of it.

No need to get upset. A 10 right path will be nowhere near your ankles and the ball doesn't start where the face is pointing.

You think most golfers hit a draw?

My favorite shot to hit is a draw. My miss depends on the club. I push with the driver but pull my shorter irons. Any time I pull my irons/wedges that still have a slight draw on them, my divot is pointing left...

Because to hit a draw, your face has to be right of target with the path being slightly more so... so it's a "closed" face compared to the path. When my path changes slightly to out to in, my grip hasn't changed. It's still more "closed" than my path... so... pull-hook.

You're really reaching now, putting words in my mouth.

I used the word "usually" and you turned that into arguing against "that uncommon". So don't lecture me on reaching.

Ell he’s right we shouldn’t put words in his mouth because there’s no way anybody has a clue what he’s trying to say at this point anyway

I'm not lecturing you on anything. If I did, it would be to not put up a graphic of "ball flight laws" that nobody has thought were correct since 1989

If you're going to use the graphic against me again, at least try to make sense if you can't make it relevant. Jesus.

At least you have a one way miss.

Also, you are getting through the ball to your left side.

I’m not a pro.

Go back to basics.
Grip, aim, stance, alignment and club path.

Sometimes a coming even a little”over the top” can lead to a pull hook.

Get a friend to video you.
See if you can tell what’s off.

Or find a good pro who will watch you and help make the changes you seek.
