I played 9 at the azalea course at Lakewood in Point Clear before the rain came down. Perfect greens there.

I played it for the first time last week. Was in excellent shape. Shot 87.

You miss in the wrong spot and the strokes come in waves.

Truth. That is why I like that course. There are a few ways to make a course difficult:
- unrealistically long
- turtle back every green and no creativity (U-Club)
- well laid out with trouble in landing zones making for a strategic game (CCL)
I like a tough course that is based on making you be strategic. One that punishes you for making mistakes and rewards you for good play.

Best surface I’ve putted on in the last year or so.
