I watch the Bob Does Sports guys for entertainment, none of the others have much character. I watch No Laying Up to kill time but as they have gotten older and started having families their content has changed.

The whole “pro setups would have scratch golfers struggling to break 90” is on full display in court right now and the verdict looks rough

I don’t think these are your average “scratch golfers”

Wesley is a pga tour winner. Let’s not act like some of these guys are a scratch who play your local country club from 6300.

Some of them are very good, but these pins are in the middle of greens in relatively easy spots.

The pros will not see flags anywhere near that easy.

That was exactly what Phil accurately argued against

Scratch golfer used to be the 45 year old fat arse accountant playing poke it in the middle safe golf averaging 75s from 6300 yards

Scratch now at most good clubs is a 28 year old former college athlete bombing 300 yard drives who goes low as frick from real tips at times

The random amateur game is wildly different

We all say the average pro golfer is wildly more athletic than ever before. Which is 100% true. But I think the random country club good golfer the change has been even more drastic

I think the PGA does that for the pro am and such so the real pin locations don't get chewed up.

I would totally agree with that. I definitely find myself making distinctions as far as single digit / scratch golfers who have games that could travel anywhere and those who poke it around their same home track.

This Roger Steele dude is the perfect example. Random good athlete that has no real golf background and he fires a -1.

Depends on the Club.

Champions GC here in Houston has a lot of scratch players of all ages that can play anywhere.

At one time, I heard that they had the most scratch to low single digit players in the nation. And this is a course that has 4 club greens.

I heard years ago that prospective members had to audition and play a round with Jackie Burke to prove they could play.

Several other courses around here are the same way.

That’s impressive.

I’d say anyone who can shoot under par at The Judge from age/handicap appropriate tees can play with anybody.

Theres damn few haul off and swing holes on that track. Hit it 330? Just means you went through the fairway into the grunge, or in the water on some holes.

I’ll admit that’d help on the 700 yard par 5.

One particularly telling stat according to 18 birdies

Putts per hole - harder than 89% of all other courses.

Was true but no longer. I think Dean (grandson - rice grad) is running the show now.

Which other clubs are like that? Have never heard of anything as stringent as what Champions mandated.

I meant there were other clubs with a lot of scratch.players. I remember Lakeside had quite a few at one time.

We use to have the Summer and Winter Carnivals at Fort Bend CC . If you couldn't shoot mid 60's in the Championship flight, you wouldn't sniff any money.

Guys like Schroder, White, Kerney, Caldwell, Kovar and other alway shot low and most were City Amateurs winners.

Bryson uploaded a new video about the same time this started yesterday

Already done just as many views as their event & will probably end up surpassing it

Both of which are more than LIV pulled at Greenbrier.

Creator Classic Sitting at around 1m with Live stream viewers plus YouTube views. Bryson at around 900k.

using #s from the CW… didn’t see Pride start a thread about it so we might’ve missed the news about LIV signing with the same sports agency as PGA Tour (Creative Artists Agency) & eyeing a deal with TNT for 2025.

Not sure if that means the two sides are getting closer to a deal, but it seems like a move in the right direction

Your ability to make any golf thread LIV related is astounding. If you’re not on the payroll you certainly should be

How are you adding these numbers?

I’m seeing 906k views compared to Bryson with 899k…

Your ability to blame me for it is astounding.

Talking about Bryson in a thread about content creators… someone else brings up LIV’s #s from greenbriar

Umm, no

The YouTube stream of liv greenbrier final round battle of Rahm and Koepka has 146k views

The YouTube stream of PGA Creators classic is at 900k

That’s apples to apples bother.

I didn’t even know final round of LIV was streamed on YouTube

Nobody was comparing the two though.
I was comparing Bryson’s video to the PGA’s
