re: Patrick Reed at it again.

What did he do wrong here?
Reed pulls a rules official over having removed the ball, shoved his finger down a few times, and not replacing the ball. What exactly was the rules official there for then at that point? Ask yourself that and the motivation behind it: Only for Reed to get confirmation (which he knows he will get at this point). By rule, he could have just taken the drop and played on. But he calls in an official because it gives him cover. And just like the NFL, the PGA has to protect the call of the official. But remember, his hands are tied and Reed knows it. He's got a mark he's created and a volunteer who said she didn't see it bounce. But that's another lie. People took a listen to her answer... The first thing she says when he asks if it bounced is "I don't know... I didn't see it bounce." Basically, she's saying she didn't see it at all.

Why do you lie when you know the video/audio is out there for us all to see/hear?
The volunteer was asked, “did it bounce?” She replied with, “um, no, I didn’t see it bounce.”
That’s a little more definitive that what you incorrectly said. She did say “I didn’t see it bounce”, but that was after first replying with “No”.
The NLU guys are not the Supreme Court here. They have opinions just like everyone else.
BlastOff has made the most sense in this thread.

does not equal, "it didn't bounce"

quote:I turned it up last night. What I quoted is exactly what she said. Her first response is that she didn't know she didn't see it bounce. That wasn't her saying that it definitely didnt bounce. We KNOW it bounced man. She OBVIOUSLY didn't see it at all in flight.

If it were any other player they would have called the rules’ official over before they moved the ball and asked the same question.
Rory says differently.

So many terrible “takes” in this thread. Mob mentality is real.
14 other times in that tournament this took place. Once with Rory, whose ball also bounced. Rory marks, removes ball, and drops ball and not a word is mentioned.
Golf is using PR the same way the MSM pushes “racism”. Wake up idiots.
PR has done some sketchy shite in his career, but this instance is all being flamed.

Actually, he should have called over one of his playing companions over to check to see whether the ball was embedded.
There's no need to call a playing companion over for an embedded ball, you just tell them I'm going to check if it's embedded. The thing that made it weird is he pulled it, then held it, then randomly put the ball on the ground. Then called a rules official over. You don't need an official, you pick it up, either it's embedded and you take a drop, or it's not and you put it back.
Calling the official over makes it seem a lot worse, because it was likely not embedded if you're asking a new opinion. There's normally not much of a question of whether or not it's embedded.

Not a single player will leave where they are and go check. They will just trust the player.

I will be in the lower percentage here but even with the bunker ordeal, I tend to side with Reed as he said the camera angle made it look worse.

Brandel has a history with Reed. A bad one. And Faldo got hosed on interviews with Reed multiple times so he hates him personally too.
Posted on 2/2/21 at 2:45 pm to BallChamp00
You could tell Sunday Faldo's melting was personal. He sounded like such a whiny bitch all day on the subject

Yea and you aren’t normally in 11 inches of rough a day after it rained 4 inches. Next

quote:We know you exaggerate in your own threads. No needs to do that here in a legit discussion thread. Where Reed's ball landed was nowhere near 11 inches. If you truly believe that, it makes sense that you think you hit your 4 iron so far.

Did you go measure it?
Everyone else seem to be exaggerating exactly what happened.

I think you know what he means
I didn't think about the rain aspect. What's really funny is this situation didn't affect the tournament in any way.

It's not just exaggerating the mob seems to be making things up solely because of PR's reputation.
