When I first started playing. No one showed me how to grip a club, so I gripped like a always gripped a bat. I’ve tried to switch but lack patience. Maybe in the spring.

Baseball grip, yea that's why i suck.

I do baseball grip as well, but I earned my suck, can't give all credit to the grip lol. I played baseball through high school and softball after, didn't touch golf until my 30s and it just felt the most comfortable.

Baseball grip is the same as 10 finger, right?

I tried interlocking and could never get comfortable with it. 10 finger for years now. I am the only person of the people I golf with that does the 10 finger grip.

I learned how to golf when I was a kid using the interlocking grip. My dad taught me that because that’s what Jack did.

Sometime around when I was in college I shifted over to the overlap, to me it feels like my hands are more connected together and helps me with control and consistency. Been using that grip for over 25 years now.

Strangely enough, I’ve been drifting back to the interlocking grip lately. I’ve probably played more golf in the last couple of years than I have in the previous 20. I feel like the interlock helps with shaping and I seem to take better divots and have better strikes. We’ll see how the consistency works out.

I guess because I’ve interlocked my whole life since I was a kid everytime I try to overlap I feel like the club is going to fly out of my hand.

Maybe I need to put some range time in working on overlap because it’s what most pros use…

Oddly, I've always used an interlock grip, and I just recently started experiencing pain in my left hand that I attribute to my golf grip. I put my hands on the club doing overlap on the range the other day and it was the weirdest feeling ever. Didn't even hit one ball with it.

I think 10 finger is the best for hand/joint pain, but I don't know if I can move away from interlock at this point. Everything else feels so weird it makes my head spin.

Baseball first, then interlock, then baseball again, now overlap, never looked back.
