No thread on Sergio qualifying for the US Open?

He went through the qualifying rounds and won. Kind of awesome he found a way to back door himself into the tournament, I’m sure the PGA doesn’t like it

This is exactly what I predicted in the beginning. They cant be stopped from qualifying. This hurts the guys on the bubble who are out there grinding a living.

I can’t stand Sergio but I have no problem with this at all. He went out and did it through qualifying, congrats.

I don't typically pulled against players, but I always hope Sergio hits it OB. Even when he is putting.
Kevin Na is another one.

US Open isn’t a PGA Tour event, it is an USGA tournament…

Would Sergio have been in the US open even if he didn’t join liv? His play has been fairly atrocious and he was dropping like a stone all on his own ranking wise
He had dropped into the 50s of the OWGR before leaving for LIv and it was going down every week. I think it’s most likely he would have fallen out of the top 60 on his own. You can’t blame the mean pga for everything….

That’s a little misleading, but he did qualify which is awesome. Carson Young won the qualifier by shooting 63-62.
As Pride mentioned above, I’m not sure if Sergio would have qualified automatically even if he didn’t leave for LIV because this is when his Masters’ exemption ran out.
It happens sometimes and the US Open is the hardest major to get into. Jason Day has missed the last two.

I couldn't stand what Serigo had become way before LIV.
The guy has so much to be thankful for, but he is always such a miserable S.O.B.

Qualifying for the Open isn’t the backdoor. It’s the front door.
