It’s one of the most impressive Reno’s I’ve ever seen!

Just looked on Instagram those green complexes look amazing.

Interesting to hear some opinions of how it is coming out. The guys involved talked it up pretty high pre renovation. I still don’t see it - at least not the level that they were claiming. I realize it’s not a great piece of property but they were claiming it to be one of the best places in the south once completed. Not from the pics that I have seen

Biarritz and punch bowl are going to be legit. Can’t wait to see it finished.

Front9 I'm guessing you aren't in the Golf Business, and just talk a lot of shite. Deereman has been running this territory for over 20 years. He knows all of us Superintendents, field managers, etc... he has seen it, and been involved in all of it. maybe the layout isn't up to par for you, but the things they are doing agronomically on that renovation are top notch. I sit here reading your BS and you never have anything to back up your crap. Keyboard cowboy

Instead of getting your feelings hurt go edge some cart paths or rake some bunkers then….

Never played there before, but I drive by it daily on the ride home. The course is looking fantastic from what I can see

One of the best you have ever seen? What other renovations are you comparing to the MCC renovation?

I have no knowledge of this course and have never seen it. I did look at that guys Instagram posts though and it looks pretty damn sweet.

3 putt,
I know you and Bandit and for the life of me I don't understand why you all are bashing this reno. Yes, it's not the best land to put a golf course on but that's where it is. Golf in south Louisiana is garbage and MCC when finished will be the jewel of the NO area. I appreciate the golden age of architecture and am very interested in how it turns out. Returning a Raynor to "what the architect envisioned" is a great thing. This project is nothing but good for golf in the New Orleans metro.

Oh, I’m not bashing it at all. I’m just saying from what I see thus far it will not be as good as they claimed pre renovation. I’m curious as to what others think.
I heard people involved in the process claim it would be the best place in the south once completed. I don’t see that at all currently.
No doubt, It will be an improvement from what was there but I don’t think it will be close to what was claimed it would be before they dug it up. And, at this point, I would not claim that it will be “the jewel of the NO area”
I guess time will tell.

If you’re into golden age architecture you’re going to love it. Having walked the course the green complexes are huge and full of nuance and undulation. People that love that and Raynor-McDonald style courses are going to love it. People that like Nicklaus style courses with a bunch of built in forced carries might not like it and that’s fine too.
Besides the design it’s been a massive drainage and agronomy renovation, where they found egregious issues from the post Katrina renovation. The renovation is going to allow them to keep the course in really great shape with lots of short grass around the greens.
