Anyone ever been on the Wednesday? How does it compare to Monday/Tuesday practice rounds?

I prefer Monday and Tuesday.

I’ve been to the par 3. It’s a show. You will be up close to the players there.

I just like being on the course. There are great vantage points to watch golf that are not crowded.

The par 3 contest gets really crowded.

I enjoy the quietness of the course.

I've been to all three practice round days.

Monday- it's truly remarkable walking out on the course Monday morning and seeing it in all it's glory, without have been trod upon by thousands of folks. Don't get me wrong, it's always going to be pristine. But Monday morning it's as good as it gets. Not everybody will be there practicing Monday, but a lot of them will be.

Tuesday- Probably the best day to go to to see them really practicing and getting ready. And all of them will be on the course at some point Tuesday.

Wednesday- More laid back due to the par 3 contest. They are still on the main course practicing, but it doesn't seem as agressive as Tuesday, Most of the big names head over to the par 3 course with their families. The par 3 contest is really neat, but really crowded. Getting a good vantage point to see much of what is going on is pretty difficult. You can get really close to the players and their hot arse wives though, if you get in a good spot.

In short, any day spent at ANGC is a fantastic day.

My favorite spot is left of the 9th green. Watching pros putt balls off the green is pretty humbling, and you can get decently close.

9 green is amazing.

There is a putt where their back is almost to the hole and it wraps around.

I think they do that one just for entertainment purposes.

So many great green complexes to watch the variety of shots they can do.

The greens at 5, 6 and 14 are some of my favorite spots.

I went to Par 3 last year, really crowded, lots of ooo and ahhhs about the kids! I prefer Monday or Tuesday, and watching from the back of 5 green, you see the approach shots to the crazy 5th green and then the tee shots to 6.

If you prefer the quiet, walking the course on Wednesday after most people head to the par 3 course is delightful.

I prefer walking the course first thing in the morning, but if that’s not an option, doing it after most people clear out is great as well.

Par 3 tournament is too many people condensed into a tight space. Watch for 30 mins then go...walk the course without lots of spectators so you can take some great pictures and watch the grounds crew getting the course ready for play on Thursday! It's what I've done last 8 yrs ...when I 1st started going, they had 28,000-30,000 spectators on practice days now they are pushing 40,000-45,000 . Tuesday is best day and stay in Augusta for the Rock Fore Dough concert sponsored by Darrius and LadyA...they bring in great acts for a good cause. BTW I own tournament badges but every year me and my guest on Wednesday go to parking lot and secure tickets from people leaving about 1-2 o'clock spend 4 hrs just walking around and taking lots of pictures. Last year I took pictures of this couple and their 2 kids as they followed us around...they didn't have a camera..took about 30 pics of them. Sent them the pictures via email...no biggie...They gifted me their condo for 8 people for a week on HYW 98 near Henderson Park in Destin this summer. Good people at the Masters!
