Made Appt to get Fit - FINALLY

I made an appointment for Sept 19 at Club Champion in Houston with Tyler Green for a driver fitting.
I have been struggling with consistency the last few years and I have never been fit for any of my clubs.
I'm hopeful that I can gain some consistency off the box but a little nervous that this won't help fix a bad swing. My driver used to be one of the strongest parts of my game. I broke a shaft leaning on my driver several years ago and have never really been the same since switching drivers after that. I have spurts of decent play but not really consistent round to round. So I'm thinking that maybe I don't have the right shaft for my swing. I guess we will see.
My irons are 2002 Titleist DCI's that I still hit fairly well but I may add irons to my fitting too if the driver fitting goes well.

I think you'll find today's club will give you more forgiveness overall. Plus its always fun to get new clubs.
It's just money.

Club Champion will do a fine job, but if in Houston, I'd recommend Impact Precision Golf in Spring over Club Champion.

Wife gave me a fitting for Christmas and I still haven't scheduled it yet. Guess I need to get on that.
I'm hitting Irons from 2008 and a driver from 2005.

2nd Impact Precision. Trevor Sauntry will take care of you for sure. It would be worth your while to change.

I agree 100%
I have known Trevor for years and he is a great guy who will take the time with you.
He knows his stuff. He helped open the first Club Champion store on I-10 when he left Golf Galaxy.
Plus he does the long drive equipment for the LDA. He is a shaft guru for sure.

It will be worth it especially for the driver and woods. I had a driver with way too much spin for me, not to mention being too light. I legit added 20+ yards to my driver through a recent fitting as well as my 3 wood. It is worth it.
Also, it is really nice having all my clubs at basically the same D6 swing weight. Good club fitters/builders can optimize all those things for you.

Dang you guys are making me rethink my decision. I always thought Club Champion was one of the best places to go in Houston.
With as inconsistently as I have hit my driver over the past few years I am still an 8 handicap so my swing isn't terrible and it is reasonably repeatable in my opinion.
I think my problem is shaft selection for my slow take away and quick through the impact zone. If this guy Trevor is a shaft guru, it might be advisable for me to swap... hmmm.

Trevor basically help start Club Chsmpion here in town. He owns his place so for what it’s worth you are supporting a local owned business not a corporately owned one.
Trevor is a very good player as well so I trust his opinion more because he can also do it in the course as well.

I got fitted for a club at club champion in New Orleans a month ago. Still waiting for it to come in.

I got my driver from Club Champion. They have great fitters. I've used Buddha exclusively before and he originally was at Club Champion.
When my clubs were delayed from component manufacturers for the pandemic I got responses not only from my fitter but Nick Sherbourne the founder of the company.
Club Champion will get you a great fit. The other gentleman that people are referring to in Houston will also give you a great fit. The entire process from club head, shaft, swing weight, grip will be part of your fit.
Don't overthink it, go to the fitter of your choice and enjoy the experience. They will optimize your equipment for your distinct delivery characteristics.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with Club Champion at all like you said.
By knowing Trevor and how informed he is about every shaft along with his business reputation and golfing ability he is a great choice.
Either way, good luck on your fitting.

Man it’s driving me nuts. I can understand if you are backed up because of the pandemic but let me know that before I order. I have been calling them every day for the past week. But to be fair I really enjoyed the fitting process. The guy seemed super knowledgeable and the technology they had was top notch.

What did you order complete set?
Bet you are ready to use

Nah man just a putter. So ready. I got a good deal for my old putter off eBay so I have to borrow my buddy’s putter every time I play.

They told me the normal lead time was 2 weeks but because of the pandemic and back up to expect about 4 weeks and it took almost exactly that. But, they told me that upfront.
Had a buddy that ordered a putter beginning of this mess only to have Scotty Cameron shut down in California right after he ordered. I want to say it was at least 2 months waiting on that putter.

Damn man. I will be extremely pissed if it is two months. I don’t think TaylorMade shut down during this shite. I don’t see why it’s taking so long.

That was early on and not through Club Champion. They should have sent you and email with the status and you should be able to tell what the delay is from that email. For me, it was a certain not very common shaft for a 3 wood but it took about a month.
I had a similar wait through a different vendor a few years ago. Should have taken two weeks but my iron heads were Japanese and they had a delay making it take 4 weeks.
