The Eric Cole story was something. Got to admire a guy with those kind of health issues to be able to play at the highest level.

Not to mention the family tragedy just months ago.

The overall ratings were 0.2 across their 26 metered markets, but there is also this

quote:

CW's flagship station (WPIX in NYC) LIV Golf averaged a 0.08 household rating and 7,679 viewers on Saturday.

Look, the truth is, if LIV was a normal venture, it would have already folded. No other pop up sports league has lasted this long with this little support across the board

LIV is dead, but it has backers that don’t mind throwing money to a dead horse.

It was truly amazing to watch CH III win more money in 3 days than he ever won in a year for 23 seasons on the PGA Tour

You and a few other thousands

LIV is the WNBA. Hemorrhages money and has awful support, but it’s kept alive by big money.

That isn’t an opinion, it’s a statement of fact so don’t get upset bandit

It was great to see a hard working 23 year PGA Tour veteran finally get the payday he deserves

That’s really not true. He won more in this one event than his other tour wins combined.

But CHIII had a career earnings of $42 million on the PGAT.

Yes it is. He said more than he ever won in a year i.e. 1 season

He made $3M total in 2018-2019 & that included 1 win, 5 top 10s, in 27 tournaments played.

He won more than that in 3 days this weekend.

I don't understand why LIV fanboys brag about how much money CHIII won this weekend. We all know that LIV is paying ridiculous money and are hemorrhaging money all over the place. If the PGA did what LIV is doing, they wouldn't last a year.

I'd say an average PGA Tour pro winning 40+ million in his career is a fair representation of what he deserves. That's not a small amount of money at all for a guy who doesn't drive the ratings for the Tour and for a guy with 3 career wins. He's made generational wealth for being perpetually average for the vast majority of his career. Good on him for cashing in with LIV money in the twilight of his career, but let's not twist the facts here. His average finish on the money list from the start of his career in 2002 through 2022 is 51. He's been consistent in having average, not great seasons with a handful of good seasons over a 21 year PGA Tour career.

Relatively speaking, an athlete with his level of play compared to his peers making 42+ million playing his sport ain't bad at all.

Its not bragging. It’s a metric to show whether LIV is successful and or gathering any true support.

A big conversation is whether or not LIV could be a viable threat to the PGA tour. How else would you like to discuss that without bringing on ratings and revenue?

Wen understand the players make alot of money on LIV. Got it. So can we move forward bow discuss the success and viability of the league, or is that off limits?

I don’t understand why anyone not playing in either league gives a flying frick what the actual participants make. It has no effect on you personally, so why give a shite?

If you have some other reason to like/dislike either
organization, than so be it. But the “they don’t pay a player what he deserves” or “they’re only about the money” sentiment is fricking stupid.
