LIV effect on equipment contracts?
Posted by bopper50

Will LIV players see their equipment contracts adjusted ?
Only 98k watching today (Saturday).
Will Phil continue playing Callaway Clubs since he no longer has a contract?
Saw Reed playing a Rogue driver today.
TV exposure is a big deal for equipment companies, it will be interesting to see how they will deal with LIV and no commercials.

None of the manufacturers have pulled the plug yet. My guess is they’re taking a neutral approach. No reason to take any side.
The more studs Liv get then the manufactures will need trucks on-site like the Tour.

The good news is that the 98k watching has to be true golf fans since its not broadcast TV.

I’m watching it over the John Deere Classic - so there’s that

I’m actually coming around on LIV. I kinda like the added team aspect of it and their list of good golfers continues to grow. DJ might not be playing his best right now but I’d still much rather watch him over JT Poston.
When the PGA has its top guys I’ll definitely be watching PGA but when it’s crappy tourney weekends like the John Deere I’d much rather watch LIV

Having being able to watch a final round on Saturday and Sunday is great for golf fans. Although I won't be watching the Deer, I'll be playing to try and sign a deal with LIV.

I agree with you about the teams. At first I didn’t see the point of the team competition but after Ortiz made his putt on 18 and his team went crazy I was sold.
I really like the mic’d up caddies and the mic on the crowd. The guy who yelled you can 4 Jack this and still win was hilarious.

I watched LIV each day and haven’t tuned in to the PGA yet. I might watch a little tomorrow but I doubt it.

LIV kicked arse this week.
It was much better than London.

With it raining yesterday afternoon/evening I decided to watch some of it. 3 hrs later, it had me. Of course, it helped that the leader board had some big names on it. I like the pace of it. Seemed a lot quicker than the broadcast of the pga tour. The first tournament, I watched about 30 minutes of it while getting new tires put on my vehicle. Wasn’t really into it but this time it actually looked and felt like a regular golf tournament. Will definitely watch the next one.
One side note, I think them being on the west coast this week was better because it gave the viewer something to watch in the late afternoon/early evening. Much better than the morning golf they had before

As of now Callaway has no intentions to stop contracts with LIV players.

I agree, much better production. Announcers still need some seasoning.

I think that I will try out too.
Pretty sure that I can beat Pat Perez lol...
Will say that Perez wife is top shelf after seeing her...

This is what makes it IMO.
I’m watching the Irish Open right now and it’s taking a minute to show each shot. They are just sitting on the leaders as he walks around, then cut to his caddie, then him holding a yardage book. LIV would have shown 3 shots by now.
The don’t blink slogan for sure fits.
The pace of LIV is great, non stop golf shots.
Crowd seemed to be into it yesterday too, it actually felt like a tournament.
The only thing that sucks about LIV so far is that there are so few events so if a player you like jumps on board you are hardly ever gonna see them play.
This production and overall event was leaps and bounds better than London.
