Putting has been lackluster the last few round so it must be the putter. Needed to burn some golf galaxy credit so went with the LAB Mezz.1. Can exchange in 90 days for credit so why not. I was skeptical but it felt great. Anyone have any plus or minuses w/ LAB?

I just played a round with the Lab Link and HOLY shite I am a believer. Typically I have 30-34 putts per round and I had 25 putts this round.

What did you find to be different to your previous putter that led to the drop in putts?

I have the df3. It’s amazing at getting the ball started on line. The lie angle balance technology is no joke and there’s a reason why you’re seeing more and more on tv. Phenomenal breakthrough technology

Mine has the 2 degree forward press grip. It really helps minimize bounce at impact

I thought Golf Galaxy canceled that 90 day return policy .

DF3 Player here.. took a couple of weeks to get comfortable with it but watch LAB Golf YouTube vids about the “thumbs off” drill.. you’ll feel the face balance better. Also it’s typically better to have the ball position more forward in your stance than you normally set up. I’m a hard believer in the technology.

Felt like a confidence thing, I don’t feel like I could miss the center of the face. I was a severe toe balanced putter before and could not find a true face balanced putter, this was my first foray into a center shatter putter and I believe it made all the difference. The weight of the head allowed me to really focus on the line and not so much on the speed.

I would do 14 jumping jacks and burn incense before every round if I always played better afterward. There's a quote about how much of golf is between your ears, and it's absolutely true.

Interesting, these putters are best suited for a straight back/through putting arc. Curious if you know that is what you have and just found the right putter to fit your arc. I did a SAM lab so long ago that I am now curious to jump back in and see if my arc has changed because your easily the 9-10th person I've heard that has had immediate success with these. I have a 3/4 toe hang because I had a dragging left hand and needed help releasing the through the strike.

I'm a straight-back, straight-through putter. I hate blades and any sort of toe-hang putter. Just could not keep the face square. I can read and handle speeds fine, but face rotation always killed me. My best putting came with a Spider X face balanced putter but I still couldn't just get my confidence right. Tried a Toulon Portland and Phantom X11. Hot and cold. Switched to the DF3 this year and it's completely changed my game. Handicap down from 3.0 to 0.7, putts per round are plummeting. I've had it in the bag since May.

Hit the ball like crap a few weeks ago - 3/13 fairways, 7 GIR. 24 putts. 10 on the back 9. Shot 69 and just had to laugh...because golf. That round deserved high 70s or low 80s but putting saved me. No chance that happens last year (or any other year for that matter). It's not everyone's cup of tea, for sure but LAB tech is some real revolutionary stuff for those that struggle with face rotation like I did.

Did you get fit or OTR? Seems like I should put more effort into this.

It is always nice having a terrible ball striking day but raining putts from everywhere. Had a similar round and hit the green in 2 on the 18th (par 5) dunked a 50-60fter for eagle to shoot 70 and my group was immediately demoralized.

Didn't get fitted...bought a 34"/69 off the rack at our club. Spent over an hour hitting the Link, Mezz and Mezz Max of varying lengths and lie angles. The 34/69 was perfect for me. Now, I'm sure that the Accra or TPT shaft could enhance my love of the DF3 (or maybe not). But I love what I have now.

At the time, my club didn't have the fitting club. They do now but I'm not going to mess with it. My confidence is sky high with it...no need to let any demons in by suggesting that another shaft or lie angle would be even better.
