Recommendations for a good course to play?

Wetlands
Farm d'Allie
Les Vieux Chenes

Can't remember which of those courses are closed today, but that's the order I'd play them in.

Cane Row in New Iberia. It's in great shape!

In my opinion Cane Row has passed up the farm. Farm has pissed a lot of our group off lately and some of their greens are struggling. Played Cane Row last weekend and although it still has some improvements that are coming down the pipe, the course is really coming into form.

Man I had to look up what Cane Row was

I knew Squirrel Run had closed some time ago and didn't realize they re-opened it under a new name. To be honest, I typically stay as far away from the Berry as I can, but I just may have to make a trip out there this summer.

Did they make any changes to the course?

Squirrel Run never closed. New ownership took over and changed the name. Back to the original 18 holes, new clubhouse, and bunkers are being redone. Cart paths will soon follow! The course superintendent and his crew are doing a fabulous job! The course hasn't looked this good in at least 10 years!

Ah, so they found a buyer prior to closing? I remember seeing an announcement a few years ago that they were gonna close it down. I'm glad to know that it's on the up and up.

Wound up playing Hebert Muni and gotta say, it was a nice little tract. Guy at desk let me off the back for free and I enjoyed walking the 18 holes.

It's not the worst course in the area. Haven't played there or Vieux Chenes since high school when I was on the golf team.

It's not bad for being such and old course and being in the middle of the city. It's a great little place to learn to play the game.

Had fun. Greens were a great speed for putting. Fairways were firm and fast which is fun for a short hitter like me. 4 was a little funky. 5 played like a par 4 that I still doubled. Beer was cold. I'll definitely be back, staff was very nice. Wind made the the par 3s difficult. Played blues

Glad you enjoyed the golf course! I put 2 and 2 together last night and figured out who you were. I’m the part timer who talked with y’all on 11 while marshaling.

I may take that 9:25 next Saturday. I need to get back out there. I haven’t played since the name change. I don’t know the course well enough to know which 18 y’all kept.

Lots of tee times between 8:15-8:52….. book online using the cane row app or Chronogolf app. The course is back to the original 18 holes. Also, don’t go the old pro shop, the new clubhouse/ pro shop is the tan building next to the putting green.
