How far can a super repeatable swing alone take you?

What I mean is, if you had no natural talent other than the fact that you could repeat the exact same swing every time, how good would you be at golf? You’d have to try and improve putting, touch, feel, all of that, but with just a repeatable swing and no other exceptional skills, D1? Mini tours?

Many could break 80 regularly.

Golf is hard. Breaking 80 is better than most who ever pick up a club.

D1 recruits worldwide. Got to have real talent.

Pros have beyond elite talent and the ability to play from any lie and the skill to play a variety of shots (big hitter, 9 windows, landing a green side shot on a golf glove size target, incredible putting within 6 feet of hole, and more)

If that repeatable swing also would be in the chipping and putting game, you could go far. The rest is touch, course management, and the mental game.

To make it on a tour level, there are so many intangibles.

It could probably take you to some level of professional with a good shortgame but that's about as far as it will go. Just look at the love and affection for perfectly on plane swings like Adam Scott. Scott is a great golfer but there are plenty more unorthodox swings who are much more productive like Jack Nicholas, Greg Norman's, Tiger at times. All have their flaws based on current instruction principles and are leas repeatable but work.

Agree with all of this, it’s like a more extreme version of baseball. A lot of those guys have unorthodox or flawed swings but they’re so talented and skilled it works for them. Give me a perfect swing and I dk I probably still not close to that level
