Honestly it may be from sites like eBay. Daniel Berger buys some of his discontinued clubs from random people online. 
When it’s discontinued and no longer in stock even top pros have to act like us normal people to get what they want at times

Tiger has been wearing the same Nike lambswool sweaters for the past decade and change. Wish they were still sold, they look comfy and light.

There were some Nike irons that were on the black market for several years. One pro had a few sets stashed but I can’t remember who.

I think you’re talking about Paul Casey and the Oven blades. He had several sets at one point.
Fleetwood had a short story about asking Paul for one of his sets.
