All of a sudden I am hitting my irons clean. Since I began playing, I rarely hit an iron shot well.. I usually flubbed the ball or would hit a roller.

Now (last 3 times I’ve played) Everything sounds and feels good. It’s like a switch was turned on.

Is this common? Did you just figure it out one day?

In my 40 years of playing golf, you never really figure it all out. If you know the fundamentals, you apply them and hope all the other pieces come together for that round. Tempo, Attitude, Mental Focus, and sometimes you just feel it. I shot 76 two weeks ago and then follow it up with a 92 this past weekend – on an easier course! Even the Pros struggle on any given week.

How many times have you put together a great round and thought walking off 18, "this is it, I know exactly what I have to do going forward"

And then next round you are on the tee and you feel like your movements are exactly the same as last time and you hook the shite out of it OB

For me, it's simple. If I transfer properly and move the bottom of the arc forward, I crush my irons. They make "that sound". If I don't, it's fat city and I can do very little, on that day to change anything.

Well, you've done it now. Report back after your next round. I'll bet the golf god will have flipped that switch. That's how the game works.

You finally got your hands in front and are hitting down on the ball. Congrats

Enjoy it, baw. Sometimes I’ll figure it out for exactly one day. Then go back to being lost for a year

I know all the pros do the following:
1) Left arm is dead straight at impact.
2) Arms are straight down at address.
3) Head is still.
4) They bring the club straight back and the backswing is pretty short.
That being said , don’t ask me about the driver.

If I were you, while you're hitting in well, immediately get as much footage from every angle of your swing as possible to save for a later date.

Yes. I think timing has a lot to do with it. Been hitting the range everyday for last 2 weeks

Someone suggested that I film my swing. I’ll do that.
