Uneventful finish, but overall solid round. His short game looks decent, and his putting is solid. I think he was probably just over compensating on the drives. First competitive round in a while, so he just has to calm down and he can be competing going in to the weekend.

So I said this in the first thread. Short game was bad. Iron numbers aren't dialed in yet. But he looked healthy. 3 more days and I wonder how sore he'll be.

Agreed. Drove the ball well (all things considered) but his short game left much to be desired. Gotta be better inside 170ish than he was today if he ever wants to compete again.

They were explaining how they mow around the greens to make all the chips into the grain. Makes it a much tougher shot. You have to be precise with contact. He wasn't. Hit just behind the ball on a few chips. He probably left 3 shots out there.

Ricky just dug into the grass and avoided trying to pick the ball. That's aggressive.
Also, the sand shot was bad too. Took way too much sand so no spin.
