Patience is a trait few people demonstrate. When I was young I wasn’t very patient either.

3-4 years in Good Good at the level they’ve built it to would pretty much set you up for life.

Seems like both of these guys are sacrificing a piece of a big pie to have a whole smaller pie to themselves. I don't think it's going to work out well for them but we shall see. Good Good is a massive brand on youtube; it's annoying when people leave a sure profitable thing because they want to "explore other opportunities" or stay away from being pigeon-holed to one lane. Like come on man, don't be an idiot and mess up a good thing. You've got it made, ride that train all the way

We will see, it’s also possible that they are reading the tea leaves and think Good Good is about to run its course. They’re pretty main stream now so the whole cheeky up and comer angle is kind of gone.

They need to pivot to something soon, the Good Good Cup was a great idea as was the crossover stuff with Rick Shiels, but their basic 3v3 format is getting stale IMO.

I’m guessing both Grant and Micah want to transition into a more serious type of golf content. Grant has a better chance IMO because he’s a better golfer and a better personality. If he does a series of traveling around playing matches with college golfers and things like that I would watch. He just needs a partner…

I agree and feel pretty much the same way as you do. Whether it's a schtick or not -- who really knows -- but Grant seems very grounded in his beliefs and religion. He mentioned his faith/praying several times in the video he released recently about him departing GG and the other guys don't come off that way.

I know Garrett and Stephen have a bit of a rep for partying; hell, Garrett had a huge hickey on the side of his neck in the video they just released of them playing at the PGA course in Frisco. I think a combination of that stuff + Grant is engaged now and overall is a bit more mature than the rest of the bunch and it just wasn't mixing well anymore.

This is what started me down the path of ignoring the notifications to simply unsubscribing. I find scramble golf on YouTube incredibly boring. I don't need to same the same shot 3 times.

Also, I know I am going to come off as a curmudgeon, but Matt doesn't have a hole in one on a par 4. It was in a scramble. If I remember right, his two partners were already on the green with their drives. It takes all the risk out of the shot.

Yep, you’re a curmudgeon.

It’s absolutely an ace. He still had to hit the shot.

I’ve got 9 of them, never felt like it was easier in a scramble to go flag hunting. Probably because I’m always going for the flag.

One thing I didn’t know about grant is his dad is 75. Makes sense why he said he would be moving back to Florida to spend more time with him.

Can’t fault the kid.

I’m thinking Grant leaving had more to do with him getting engaged and his dad being old. Their travel schedule isn’t conducive to being around much and Grant was an employee who went where he was told to go. He’s also only been a member of Good Good for a little over a year. The brand was big before he joined the team. Same with Bubbie. Both those guys just had cameos from time to time before being a regular.

I think Micah has visions of grandeur of being a touring pro. He’s seemed checked out for awhile now. He’s also married, so that could have something to do with it. His wife may want to start trying to start a family. Who knows

Garrett has been doing this since he was 16 and has shown he can adapt. I think they’ll ultimately be fine.

Definitely sound like a curmudgeon. He aced a par 4 cmon man don’t be that guy.

The Garrett and Steve partying thing is interesting and I could see it.

There’s been a few videos where Garrett just seems off or distracted, I’ve wondered more than a few times if he wasn’t on something. There is a stark difference when he is on his GM channel, especially his travel series stuff with Grant. He is definitely more focussed and alert in those videos.

I think it has more to do with how he acted in many videos following it. He brought it up so damn much. I didn't even think about it watching the original video or a few after. On the 10th video when he brought it up, I was just thinking "Dude, shut the frick up. You know what, I don't even think it's an official hole in one".

It's usually when they have to play in the morning lol. Seems like they don't like waking up in the morning, they always show up to the course about 5 minutes before they tee off with bags under their eyes.

If you notice, in most of their videos, they are playing almost at dusk. They definitely prefer later in the day for tee times. There's been a bunch of videos where they almost can't finish because they are losing the sun.

I'm a big morning golf guy, but I guess when you're in your early 20's, 8:00 tee time is "early"

I always assumed it was because they only planned to play 6-7 holes for the video and they would tee off after the last tee time for the course they were at. It could definitely be what you said, though. They have no responsibilities, why tee off at the crack of dawn.

I agree but they have drastically scaled back the amount of 3v3 videos the last few months.

The reason for this is that they don’t have to worry about pace of play if they’re the last tee time.

Setting up camera shots, commentary, etc slows things down. Plus frequently they’re playing in larger groups

Hadn't thought about that; that makes sense.

I wonder if they might replace Grant with Andrew Kozan. Really like that dude in the last couple videos, and he has an awesome swing. With him and Kwon in GG, at least the talent level would stay up.

Kozan is on the Korn Ferry tour. He is the only professional golfer that GG currently sponsors. I dont see that changing unless Kozan loses status.

They just put out a new video going back to their standard 3v3 format. They had John Daly jr. as a guest with no Grant.

I didn’t watch the whole video, but I watched a few holes and noticed they made some video changes.

1. After all the tee shots they had a graphic showing where all the guys hit their balls

2. They added tracers to most approach shots which was desperately needed and a big improvement

3. They showed more of them messing around between shots, walking to holes etc… they even had a mini interview with JD jr in between shots.

If they stick with 5 guys and consistently get good quality guests, this format could work IMO

You still have to figure out how to limit Matt and Steve, they’re the worst golfers and they’re annoying. At least Matt works on his game and has improved a lot, he clearly cares. Steve doesn’t give a shite and it shows in his game and attitude. He’s been in Garrett’s videos since he was doing trick shots as a 15 yr old and he lives in the house, so I doubt he’s going anywhere.

It’s good they got Luke from a golf quality stand point, but he doesn’t have much personality on camera, maybe that will improve with time.

Watched it yesterday and loved this. Very cool.

I may be in the minority but I'm not a big fan of Luke. I agree with you about him being a bore on screen, sometimes he comes off a little douchey but that could just be awkwardness on camera. Also, for a professional golfer, he loses A LOT of balls to the right with a big cut/slice. I guess his stock shot is the fade but man he really gets them way right off the tee sometimes.

We all have off days. I’m 70% FIR and I can work it either way pretty much on command.

Every so often though I have a day I have no clue where it’s going.
