I’ve been married for 41 years. Admitting you’re wrong is a requirement to stay married that long.

I just try really hard to avoid being wrong so I don’t get reminded more than twice a day about that time 7 months ago.

Slow play is the worst part of golf these days. People should be able to play 18 in a cart in 3 hours or less. Courses should manage this better.

I play fast and I’m not playing The Judge in under 2 1/2 with nobody else on the course. 3 hours is unrealistic for a 4 player group on any of the RTJ courses for example.

I agree.. but 2 people.. not 4..

My daughter and I play a lot just the 2 of us and play pretty quickly.. And playing our home course in under 3 hours is doable with no one in front of us.. But a group of 4 isn't doing a sub 3 hour round.. Fastest round with 4 in two carts i've ever played with has been 3hrs and about 20-25 minutes

Agree that 4 should be able to do 18 in a cart in under 4. We would play 4 at a local country club in 3.5 usually. I can usually walk 18 in 3 plus or minus with a push cart. Great exercise.

Yeah I gotta look into get a push cart.. Daughter has one for School matches and tournaments... I should get one b/c we tend to play 9 after she gets out of school a lot and the extra exercise would be nice.. As well as those cart path only days.. have a pushcart has got to speed those rounds up as well

What I don’t do anymore is stress about it, and I seriously doubt you’ll find many people who play faster than I do.

This. You just gotta live and let live. Golf is a hobby. We're not counting on it to put a roof over our heads or feed our kids. It should be a stress reliever, not a stress creator.

If the "fast" guys were near the green on 14 and the "slow" guys were near the tee box on 13 when they crossed paths again, that's a ridiculous amount of space between two groups on a busy day.

Really though it shouldn't be hard to find the bottleneck if there's a competent ranger out there. I really wish these courses would monitor the pace of play better and when there's a significant gap starting to grow on the course, they need to have the slow group pick up their balls and head to the next tee box after 1 warning. If it happens again after that, they get removed from the course and get a raincheck for their remaining holes. Telling golfers who are following the rules and being considerate to just skip holes that they paid for is the wrong answer.

He already clarified that they were on 13 green and 14 tee. Also, 15 tee is between 14 green and 13 tee. You’d have to be driving by from 15 to get around to the green to run into anyone on 13 tee.

Played two RTJ courses. Capitol and Oxmoor Valley. Tee'd off at the Capitol just after noon on a Thursday. Quit on 16, dark. Oxmoor tee'd off around 8am, took 6 hours to play.
