Where do y’all golf in Lafayette? I tried Vieux Chene last weekend and it wasn’t bad. Kind of pricy for quality of the course. I know it was wet but the greens were not good.

I played Farm D’Allie last year while on business and it was in good shape, and a pretty fun layout.

I have a regular Saturday morning game at Muni. It’s in very rough shape at the moment. We need 30 days of sunshine

Wetlands and The Farm are the better public options.

LeTriumph and Oakbourne are our private options.

If you don’t mind the drive, Bayou Bend in Crowley has a dogfight (money game) every day. It has an amazing cheeseburger.

I think the wetlands is the best public option. Believe it or not, but I am hearing that the old Spanish Trail (now Eagle Ridge) has pretty much the best public greens right now.

Really? Ok well that’s good to hear. I just moved to Lafayette and I heard bad things about Muni.

I’m in an association with a great group of guys. It’s $25 to walk on a weekend. We play early. I can get a round in and be drinking a beer by noon. I’ll say 1 good thing for Muni, you will learn to drive it straight. Same thing with BBCC in Crowley. When I got to Wetlands, the fairway looks HUGE! It’s made me a better golfer, but it’s certainly not a great course I’m the grand scheme.

Veiux Chenes a better layout than Muni, but is kept in about the same shape. The rounds out there on a weekend can be brutal long. It’s packed full of hacks. 5-6 hour rounds happen often if you don’t play early.

1. Wetlands
2. Farm
3. Vieux Chenes
4. Muni

I haven't played spanish trail, squirrel run, or Bayou Bend in ages but they're other options just outside of Lafayette

ETA: I'd add that Abbeville just reopened and I heard it's in pretty decent shape. I'm sure they need dry weather too

Cane Row Golf Club (used to be Squirrel run) is in good shape, just wet. All bunkers are being redone...greens are pretty good with a few exceptions. Under new ownership...

I really enjoy Muni but keep your head on a swivel. Depending on how you feel about driving, Indian Hills in Opelousas is under new management and they had the course looking nice a month or so back. That was before all the rain though. Decent price and the guy running it now knows what he is doing. But... be ready for the smallest greens you've ever played on lol.

Oakbourne is the class of the Acadiana - would do whatever possible to play there with a member or event!

Prefer Muni over Vieux Chene personally.

Wetlands>Farm>Muni

Oakbourne is fantastic imo

I got a last minute invite to play in a scramble there lat year. I am a permanent team member now.

The best part is, the rest of the team are 20+ handicaps, so I am basically playing the course by myself. It's awesome!

Just FYI- This year's member guest is on my Bday, so if any members need a partner, I'm in

Planning on joining Oakbourne in the Spring. Out of area membership is very attractively priced

I usually play at muni. Wetlands is a fun course, but VC is better for the price IMO.

Why oakbourne over LT?

1. Better Management
2. Better Pro
3. Better condition

4. Better members in my opinion.

Oakbourne is a golf course first and that is the focus.

LT seems to want to be a social club first with the GM they have.

Fair enough. I live in Broussard, but could access either.

Still weighting an eventual membership. But my few good friends are at LT.
