Glasses - what do you recommend?

I generally don't like wearing sunglasses, especially on the golf course - I just feel like it dulls everything - shapes, lines, contours, etc.

However, my sissy eyes have gotten pretty sensitive to glare - most noticeable while I'm standing over and looking at the ball on a bright day.

Anybody have a good recommendation as to a brand/lens color that would work best reducing glare without overly tinting everything? (won't be wearing while putting).

Maui Jim
These aren’t “golf sunglasses”, but I use them because of the titanium frame and super light lens. Also the clearest lenses I’ve ever used. The Oakley Flak Jackets have always been popular for golf, had a pair of those forever, these are far better. Feels like I’m wearing nothing and the tint is not overly dark. They don’t slip down my nose either.

If you don’t like that style, maybe find another frame with the same lightweight lens.

I was gifted a pair of Peak Vision glasses. Not that impressed to be honest. It was a nice gesture as a gift, but I wouldn't buy them for myself.

I've got a pair of Maui Jims that I sometimes wear while playing. They are extremely light, and I wear them all the time for everyday use off the course. On the course, I strongly prefer my Oakley Flak 2.0 XL with the Prizm Dark golf lenses. Of course, that lens is available in other frame styles to suit your preference. It's a really good golf lens that definitely enhances color and contrast.

I wear a pair of Oakley Holbrooks.. I did replace the lenses with some lenses from a company called Fuse. They’ve been really solid.

I wear MJ’s everyday, but I have “golf specific” Oakleys that I use strictly for golf, even keep them in a case in my bag. Polarized, and tremendous contrast lenses…

Unless you like excessive glare, be my guest.

The high contrast lens gives plenty depth perception, the polarized lens blocks the glare. Best of both worlds for my eyes…

Seems like there’s some middle ground to be occupied here… Wear them for 95% of the day to cut out the glare and reduce eye strain, then take them off for a minute to read the green.

Exactly this.. it’s what I do especially if it’s a green I’m not used to playing

I got a prescription pair. Cared less about the tint than their staying on my face no matter how hard I swing.

Is it affecting my reads? I can’t tell if it is, I’m usually pretty close on them
