March is a tough Month to have a golf tournament in South Louisiana. I’m not taking up for them but it can be challenging due to the weather

They would paint the greens to make it look like they had grass.

The tournament really screwed the course up. They had to burn down the greens to speed them up before the real growing season began. By the time the greens healed, the heat of summer came and nuked them. This year and next should be prime for LTs greens assuming that a greens keeper survives more than 3 months.

Negative. there was another change in August of 2023. The Present Superintendent is a Louisiana guy and very good at his job. He will do great at LT! He has been in the business 26+ years that I know of and comes from a great pedigree of mentors.

Actually the course is great.
Facilities are good.
Food is good.
To the average person or guest, they wouldn’t notice anything.
The ones that notice are the member diehards, the ones there weekly, the ones who want every tournament to be special, etc etc.

No it really. That is the first I mentioned his name I believe. I just I know back in the day every time I was out there he was either hitting balls or bullshitting with John Joy. Never really saw him doing any work. One beautiful Saturday morning when he was interim head pro I ran into him at Home Depot instead being a head pro.

This is false. The PGA Tour wanted more money, half a mill more. When its sponsor decided it was too much money the tour pulled the plug. The LA Open raised over $3M for local charities. Turning a profit was never the goal.

I can answer both of those questions in detail (Perks leaving and losing the LA OPEN), but do not wish to put it on the forum. Is there any way to private message on this forum?
