Anyone have insight into how the postponed event at Bayou Oaks is coming along? September is fast approaching.

Bayou Oaks can't even keep the driving range open 2 days a week. I have doubts they could even host the tournament, even if LIV decided to come play in September. Bayou Oaks has been a major disappointment this year. They let themselves get cucked by LIV and they have basically given the finger to the local nola golf community for the entirety of 2026.

This LIV obsession is surreal.
If everyone was honest with themselves, there was no way that both LIV and the Tour could survive. The money needed became way too big and was not sustainable for either Tour.
I'm more upset that here we are in mid July and there are only 3 decent PGA Tour events left for 2026 that is worth watching.

LIV 2.0 is a 10 event / $10 million per purse tour with bottom 12 players not eligible for winnings. They are dropping Saudi Arabia and are concentrating on markets that are golf starved. The current LIV players will play in either the DPWT, Asian Tour, or one of their feeder tours will still being allowed to play on LIV. Rumors they maybe picking up New Zealand, Chile, and Argentina as event locations in 2027.
The players will treat LIV as a high-paying 10 event add on rather than a closed shop. I don't see any LIV players bolting for the PGA except those that want to follow the Pat Perez model of getting on the Seniors Tour.

Agree what the frick is this? I know they put a ton of drainage into the driving range. Why tf does a bad rainstorm knock the range out of use for days on end???

Oh no, NOLA got a half inch of rain this afternoon, as is typical in the summer. Better close the driving range for 2 days.
I get that they want to let the new sod take hold before they run ball collectors on it after ir rains, but damn…the sod has been down for 3 months now in peak growing season. How much longer is it going to be before they’re back to normal on reopening after afternoon showers?
