Curious about your thoughts on Greystone right now?

i will say if you don't mind the odd layout and the point and shoot nature of the course it's great.. Always in good shape, greens were pretty damn quick yesterday despite the rain..

My one hang up I've always found that it can be a miserable course post any kind of rain.. It gets really sloppy , super soft and for someone like myself who has a fairly steep attack angle chunked shots become quite frequent.. But thats me.

The one thing I feel Greystone lacks over Pelican is practice facilities.. The practice areas at Pelican are lightyears better..

It would benefit GS members and guests to demo the parking area to the SE of the chipping green and make it a legitimate sized chipping area and maybe add some mats on the range just behind the existing range hitting area.

Yeah, that’s never going to happen. It would be awesome though. I wish we had a chipping area like Carter.

The wooded area right past the range , is there space enough for something like that??

Look at an aerial shot of the range. It looks like a really thick section of woods next to it that could be used. But yeah the detractors would be removing some of the visual buffer into eastover.

I was also told there was another filing going in next to that firehouse on 16 on that a second entrance would be located next to eastover which is a terrible idea and for the life of me can’t see how it would connect

Yeah, can't remove any buffer from Eastover, Shadow Springs, or the sewage treatment facility. Man, typing that out makes me realize what a bad location Greystone is.

The land between the firehouse and the golf course is all blocked by existing homes, so I don't know either. Maybe they could do a small filing in between Dollar General and O'Bryant Lane on 16, but it would detached from the rest of the subdivision.

Too late on that one. That stretch of 6,7&8 if the wind is blowing the wrong way … Good Gawd.

Like I couldn’t imagine dropping the coin on a new build in the filing on #8 .

Those houses are over a million bucks. I can’t imagine being successful enough to build that house, but still be oblivious to how terrible it will be to live by the sewer plant.

I’d totally live in the front sections of the neighborhood, but no way would I be by Eastover or the sewer.

People are paying a million dollars to live in Gstone?

Some of the homes in the front have gone for that much. Everything built to the left of 8 will be that at a minimum. The first house there sold for about $300/sqft.

Absolutely, several big homes have gone for that or quite a bit more. The home by the first tee is currently listed for 1.4.

I understand some of the ones that were built recently and very modern.

I should have been more specific. They are paying a million for a house in the new filing?

Yeah there’s a house going up on 8 that is pretty damn big and apparently 1.1 .. Damn patio has a direct eye-line to the sewer treatment plant.

So guess you can not only watch shite golf from the patio you can smell it as well

Only for those larger lots by 8. The lots between 5 and 6 will not be big enough for a million a piece.

Going off what someone in the neighborhood told me. But if houses are selling at $300 a foot this house will easily hit the 7 figure mark.

Don't forget the power hungry old fart's that are marshalls. They tried to tell us 3 different times that were being too slow and had to skip a hole bc the group in front of us was to far ahead. Even though no one was waiting behind us and we were on pace.

The kicker was the group in front of us teed off 25 minutes before us...

their "customer service" is awful, they barely recognize you as you walk in to pay/check in.

I hadn't played Greystone for a year or so and was shocked by how different the course feels with all of that blown out for housing. Had the same feel when Carter cut everything back too.

I heard they were trying to raise the rates and push it towards full private. Any truth to the @ell
