First eagle!

Played a quick 9 at my home course yesterday. Started bogey (par 4), par(par5), bogey(par 3) then comes #4 a 380 yd par 4. Hit a solid drive dead straight and left it 77yds out. Grabbed my Cleveland zipcore 56 and hit what I thought was just a good approach shot until it hit 6" from the cup and rolled in. I have chipped in for birdie twice in the last month from the sides of the green but for me this was epic! I ended up finishing the round +4 but the eagle definitely made for one hell of a round. Now if I could finish without having 16 putts in a 9 hole round that finishes +4 maybe I could actually shoot par!

Awesome! I have a grand total of 2...and they both came long ago. Both were at the now defunct LSU course. One was on a par-4. I would love another at some point.

Don’t think an eagle can be counted on the old LSU course.

Very nice, I hit a hole in one once on a par 3 but it bounced out of the hole, but I still count it.

All holes on the old front nine were legit par 4s. Nothing like some of the short holes at City Park.

Mine were legit. One was a chip-in from about 35 yards on the par-5 6th hole.
The other was a bit fortunate. It was on 14, which is the par 4 that dog-legged left over the canal.
I had a slice back in those days, but I somehow managed to hit one straight. It got over the canal, hit the cart path, avoided all the little trees by the path, and ended up about 10 yards short of the green.
Also to my good fortune, the pin was on the front of the green, and my ball really wasn't much more than 50 feet from the hole. I chipped in from there.

Congrats! I don’t know if I have made an eagle or not. I’m not very good at golf but have made a hole in one and an albatross. But was immediately humbled after each. 9 on hole following hole in one and topped tee shot in ditch about 20 feet in front of me after albatross.

I’ve chipped for eagle a couple times but never putted for one, and damn sure have never made one.
