Has anyone bought and played a set of these?

I hit the F7 Cobra one length irons very well but seemed to flight it lower than average with the 5 iron. Wondering if they have improved the ball flighting on the F8s with the longer irons.

I've wanted to try them, but I don't play enough these days to justify the cost of buying a new set if irons when the ones I have work fine.

I havent hit them, but I am thinking about building a set of single length irons.

I like the concept and think that it would actually help golfers improve in the consistency department.

The problem with the one length irons is that most of the amateur golfers that use them can't generate enough speed to get the correct flight on the ball with the lower irons.

One length irons most likely isn't the right set for you, but if you are dead set on them I would work on some speed training drills. It should help you get the ball into air a little better.

I couldn’t imagine trying to hit a 5i that’s the same length as the pw. You would have to have them custom built. Wouldn’t the longer irons need to be made more upright?

Thought they used 8/7 iron length? I don’t see it as being an issue to hit. Unless I’m misunderstanding, isn’t the idea one length one swing? So you’d just swing a 5 as you would a PW. I don’t know much about them, so I’m sure I’m over simplifying it.

No. Irons having different lies is a result of the different lengths.

From personal experience, unless you play a lot(i.e. several times per week year round) and can really perfect it, I wouldn't do it. I built a set using 7 iron length for all, adjusted/fitted each of the clubs according, and tried it during the summer a few years back when I played several times per week during the summer months. Felt like it was a lot harder to get consistent solid contact with every club. Couldn't ever figure out what I was doing wrong with the various clubs I was mishitting. Switched back to my regular set and scores dropped back down to where they normally are for me.

That’s true.

It took me three times of hitting balls to adjust to the length of the shorter irons being a 7 iron length. I did however hit the ball well.

I do believe you have to tinker with ball position and you can’t have much forward shaft lean especially on the long irons bc it would produce a 2 iron ball flight.

My ball striking consistency and accuracy have improved from my normal variable set. Wedges go a little too high but not bad. The yardage’s check out perfectly.

I agree with you on swing speed. I have 98 mph swing speed on my 7 iron. I do not think one length are for easy swingers and senior golfers because for that drop in length on a 5 iron you have to make up for it in swing speed to get the ball up in the air.

All I had to do is adjust my ball position to slightly forward and make sure I had minimal forward shaft lean. The flight turned out to be a normal 5 iron flight and same distance.

I wasn’t pulling my short irons for what it’s worth. I know everyone has a different swing and experience with one length.

I have hit the F7 irons on track man and have produced nice gapping and my natural draw ball flight with them. I actually pull the one length way less often than my variable set.
