In the market for a new driver. Down to the SIM and the Maverik. Any of you guys have some feedback or even other suggestions?

Go get fitted. Finding the correct shaft for you is the most important part of buying a driver. The shaft can literally make all the difference in the world.

If you’re spending that kind of money on a driver go get fitted and put the right shaft in it. They’re both great clubs.

Ping G410, I got mine dialed in, fricker is like 20-30 yards longer than my 915 D2 when I hit it on the screws. Granted I only drive it in the 260s or so but that was huge for me

Look at shafts. The driver heads are basically all the same(visual preference). Invest in a high quality shaft that fits your swing.

That’s my advice.

Have you hit everything? SIM and MAVRIK great clubs but Ping, Titleist, Srixon and a few more are great. If you haven't hit all of them don't just settle for those two. A proper club fitting with plenty of shaft options may uncover something special.

Ping G410 is the longest driver out there. Definitely all about the shaft though

What everyone else has said, Get fitted. I ended up with a great shaft and a head I never thought I would ever buy.

The new ping G425 should be coming out this fall/winter. I’d wait until you can test that too.

Is the right fit on shaft just club head speed match?

No, it’s one of many factors like your transition, how you load the club, release the club etc that experienced club fitters know way more than I ever will. But swing speed is not the sole element of shaft selection or even just flex selection. And, flex is only one factor as well.

SIM was best fit for me. Least ball spin. Ping had most. Hit Mavrik too high

The Ping G410 LST is a low spin monster.

Get fitted!!
All about the shaft
I ended up with a regular shaft instead of stiff on the Sim Max
Would have never guessed it
Hit so many more fairways

Every major driver out there is rev'd up to the max energy conversion allowed by the USGA (including last yrs models). That being said, matching the grip, shaft, length, Head adjustments, etc to your swing is where you get benefit.

The claims that this new driver or that will get everybody 20 more yds every year is horseshite. Fitting and lessons will help you more than buying the hottest new toy.

Good luck trying to get a Mavrik right now. It's the superior head and has technology on the face the others don't. If you have to order custom online you'll be waiting weeks for it to ship.

Callaway Preowned just added all 3 of the Mavrik models to their website. That being said, I'd wait for them to drop the price a bit
