What is this thing supposed to do that you can’t get by just cutting out a square piece of plywood?

I have one but don't really care for it but there are several pros using them. They are adjustable which is a bonus if you want to practice different clubs.

How do you use it? Do you just grip it with the inside of your feet?

It was recommended on here so I got it - helped my daughters game exponentially- it helps refine swing sequence with legs

You just grip it with your feet. It is supposed to promote a solid ground up approach.
