Whether it’s the hat, the unorthodox swing, the weird approach to the game, I don’t think those are good reasons to dislike someone. Although I think most are guilty of disliking anyone that’s different than what we’re used to. My dislike for this guy although is based off of some of the things listed earlier his pace of play is unbearable and there’s a reason a lot of players on tour don’t like this guy. When this happens it’s not just someone having a bad moment. This is someone who is showing you their true colors.

————————————————————
After hitting a poor bunker shot Dechambeau whipped his club at the sand then decided to throw it. Frustration happens on the golf course. Well what happened next is inexcusable. Bryson then took aim at the camera man who was merely standing there doing his job. He then tried to make excuses during his interview of why he berated the camera man.

————————————————————
"So there was something that happened -- I mean, nothing crazy -- but I had a cameraman that was filming me after I hit a bad bunker shot and whiffed the sand a little bit, which I shouldn't have done, that was dumb," said Bryson.

The incident came early in his round, and though vide has yet to surface, Bryson was snapped having a bit of a chat with the cameraman in question on the seventh hole. He apparently took a swipe at the sand and was running pretty hot.

"At the end of the day, he was literally watching me the whole entire way up after getting out of the bunker, walking up next to the green and I just was like, 'Sir, what is the need to watch me that long?,'" said Bryson. "I mean, I understand that it's his job to video me, but at the same point, I think we need to start protecting our players out here compared to showing a potential vulnerability and hurting someone's image."

Well, this is going nowhere good after that.

"I just don't think that's necessarily the right thing to do," he added. "Not that I was going to do anything bad, it's just one of those things that I hope he respects my privacy. As much as we're out here performing, I think it's necessary that we have our times of privacy as well when things aren't going our way. I mean, we're in the spotlight. If somebody else is in the spotlight they wouldn't want that either. It's just something about respect I think that's necessary on that end."

DeChambeau, who has been in the spotlight all week because of his diet (which is absurd) and his driving (which is maybe even more absurd), does not want to take the good with the bad.

"I feel like when you're videoing someone and you catch Tiger at a bad time, you show him accidentally doing something, or someone else, they're just frustrated because they really care about the game," said Bryson, invoking Tiger Woods' name and career. "It could really hurt them if they catch you at a potentially vulnerable time.

"We don't mean anything by it, we just care a lot about the game. For that to damage our brand like that, that's not cool in the way we act because if you actually meet me in person, I'm not too bad of a dude, I don't think. So that's the thing -- I hope we can get to the point where everybody understands that we just care a lot about the game, we want to do well, we're passionate about what we do and we want everybody to enjoy the entertainment. We don't want negative stuff coming down."

I'm not even sure where to begin here. I saw people throwing around the "damage our brand" line on social media, and I didn't think he said those words, but alas, he literally said those words. It's a tough look for somebody who has so heavily leveraged the camera and the media to, you know, promote his own brand.

Bryson is looking for his first win in 18 months on Sunday at the Detroit Golf Club and is one of the favorites to get it. He tees off second to last with Troy Merritt at 1:55 p.m. Sunday's finale was already going to be exciting, but on Saturday evening, he assured us all that it would be must-see TV throughout the afternoon.

If you don’t want to ruin your brand by being a douche, don’t be a douche

Lol. Yes i agree. I’m just referring to the berating of a camera man doing his job. There’s a quote on a different article about it. Bryson says the guy is damaging his brand. Writer states “Bryson Dechambeau berating a cameraman reveals his true brand”.

I mean would you feel the same way about Tiger if he said that in his prime? Would you call Tiger a douche?

Tiger was always pretty confrontational but never berated a cameraman. So it’s not very comparable. Tiger is emotional and they showed him slamming clubs and cursing. You never heard him blaming a cameraman for ruining his image. So, although tiger was an Ahole at times he isn’t about belittling a poor cameraman. That’s scumbag type stuff. Plain and simple

Thats what makes it worse. Tiger can't wipe his own arse with out it being reported and cameras everywhere.

There's not even any fans, and Bryson wants privacy while on the course? I mean come on. Bitching about something in your personal life that is somehow tangentially connected to golf is one thing (which is still usually BS because they want the "brand" stuff), but bitching for a the camera staying on you while on the course is just inexcusable.

Wait Tiger never berated a cameraman? He did it more than once. Here’s just one.

Look, i said tiger was def an Ahole. You obviously are a Bryson fan or you haven’t even read what happened. He yelled at a cameraman then went on national tv and complained and accused the cameraman of ruining his so called brand. You know, the same exposure that gives him “his brand” is now ruining it somehow? The guy has showed you who he is. If you can’t see it it says more about you than it actually does douchambeau. I’m not sure how you can compare one player telling a cameraman to “give me some F’n space” to what Bryson did. Neither are very cool but to me the actions after the incident make it even worse

Tiger would turn down interviews. Would you rather someone give exactly what’s on their mind or lie in interviews or not even give them? BAD is just what golf needs. And is creating a golf talking all around.

People who are upset over this just don’t like BAD. But yet most liked tiger. Seems odd.

I rarely, if ever, blame guys for outbursts while on the field/court/course whatever during the competition. The stakes are high and all these guys want to win. Throwing a club or cursing is fine by me, but airing the camera man out for hurting your "brand" after the round is bullshite. Had Bryson said. "You know what I was pissed and shouldnt have dome that, I'm going to apologize to the cameramen" this would have never made the news.

I think i see what you’re saying but, people don’t like people who belittle others then make excuses for their behavior. I’m fine with cursing and tossing your club. shite we all do it. But to yell at a cameraman for doing his job then belittling him and blaming him later on is a total douche move. He exposed him for who he is. That’s why he’s upset. Whether that’s good for golf or not is not the topic here.

Well, Bry, you have one of the best jobs in the world, and you make a lot of money. You're doing well and generate a lot of exposure and attention. If you can't handle it, then go back to playing Nassaus with your buddies in Dallas.

Agreed. It’s an emotional game and things like this can happen. Admit to it and apologize and tell him you were wrong. He comes off like a horrendous douchey brat.

DeChambeau asking for privacy on the course is ridiculous no matter how much you try to spin it.

Tiger literally had cameramen, reporters, and fans trying to touch him on the course. He simply expected some space to work, not privacy.

DeChambeau expecting privacy during a nationally televised round is absurd.

I saw that, it's like he is oblivious to his playing partners right now.
