Played Kelly last Friday and was in perfect shape. Not sure when they plan on punching but man it was fun. Even met a couple of Tiger fans in the clubhouse from La. Great course.

I’m playing Indian Bayou today. I’ll report back.
I noticed Kelley’s prices drop next week. Punching?
ETA IB is in great shape. Greens are healing from a punch and don’t take as much break as you think. They still roll great. Everything else was awesome.

Went to Shalimar Pointe golf club this week. Staff were friendly.
For the price point of 70ish dollars (depending on time of day). I thought it was a good deal. Greens were nicer than Fort Walton municipal.
It’s just a regular neighborhood course, but I will be returning. Most holes had open fairways which were nice for someone who doesn’t play much.

Aerification Notice - Please be advised that the golf course will be closed on Monday (6/03) and Tuesday (6/04) due to course aerification, and to expect recovering course conditions for the following couple of weeks.

*Update: Actually ended up in the area 2 weekends in a row due to outside interference, so I made the best of it and got 4 rounds in!
Last weekend
Windswept Dunes-We played afternoon after storming all morning, (had Kelly scheduled that afternoon but they closed course) and it was on COP on 1 hole. Course was in fantastic shape, very pretty and challenging. Nice people, but not much of a clubhouse. Greens rolled good. We did notice 3 or 4 greens that had some bad patches of dead with spots of green in them looking like a turtle shell. The greens are still beautiful and large, and these areas were small and were never in our way.
Kelly Plantation-Was able to play the following morning. COP on 2 holes. Course was in great shape. Very pretty and also challenging. Nice clubhouse. Nothing bad to say about it, but it is pricey.
This past weekend.
Indian Bayou-Very good condition and challenging but also very playable. Large greens in great shape. Nice clubhouse.
Baytowne-This one does not get talked about much, but I actually liked the track more than I thought I would going through the condos and such. Decent overall shape, but not great. They finished aerating the greens on 5/30 and they are not healing very quick at all, so that did suck, but they did have it at a reduced rate. Greens were not pretty and damn slow. 7:50 tee time and they had grounds crews weed eating and edging along the cart path and right at tee boxes throughout the damn round. Even had one on #12 when we were there. I know it needs to be done, but they have got to be able to schedule that better, or at the least communicate with them a little etiquette and not be edging 15' from the tee box while golfers on are teeing off.
My preference:
1) Windswept Dunes-$115 afternoon rate ($155 reg I think). Great condition, decent scenery, wide open, challenging.
2) Indian Bayou-$125. Great condition, nice layout. Plays pretty long. Some houses around on some holes but not all of them.
3) Kelly Plantation-$190. Would probably rank ahead of Indian Bayou if prices were equal, it's a little better but not $65 better.
4) The Links-$155. Played twice before and was in good condition both times. Nice views of bay and boat docks on some holes. Some holes are between condos and houses.
5) Baytowne-$70 after aerating. I liked the course/hole layouts It does go through condos & houses or nearly every hole. Not in bad shape but definitely the worst shape out of all these and that's not considering the greens after aerating
