Do you bring a 6 pack into WalkOns?
I’ll assume that’s a yes for the downvotes. Classy.

There was a thread earlier on here where I brought up that the line isn't so clear for this. As a society, we think, of course alcohol is different, but why is that? Is it only because courses mark up those items to make more money? If the course sells water and granola bars at the clubhouse, should I feel guilty bringing those for my round? Although, having typed that out, I realize that water and granola can sustain your physical health for a round while alcohol is mostly for enjoyment.

Alcohol sales are regulated by the state and having people bring their own puts the course in a liability situation they don't want to be in, and they could lose liquor licenses.

Well, there you go. That's the difference.

The SM thread about 5 1/2 hour rounds leads me to question the role of marshals at a course
I was just talking to a workmate about this this morning.
I played by myself Friday afternoon and it was slow. On #1 the marshal was out in the middle of the fairway filling divots with sand. Ok. But I was waiting for 5+ minutes on the tee. Waved my arms in the air when he was looking at me and he just kept on filling divots. He finally stops and starts driving back to me so I hit while he was on the way in. Dude had the nerve to say that I should have waited to hit
Later the guy is following me around watching me play. I hit a par 5 in two pretty close (missed the putt) and he drives up and hollers that that was a good shot.
On 17 he parks next to my cart, watches me tee off. Parks next to me on my 2nd. 3rd shot my chip wasn't great and came up probably 10 feet short. The dude gets out of his cart, comes up and asks me what I'm chipping with. A 56. He tells me that I wasn't in the sand so I shouldn't be using a sand wedge. He uses a 52 and any greenside chip he gets it withing 3 ft every time. He stands on the green while I'm putting and says "I know this goes a little right." I aim a little left and... it breaks left
I'm like this isn't your f'n job dude. I don't want an old dude following me around, complementing my shots and trying to give me advice. Just check me in on #1 and get out of the way.

I was more on the lines of a joint.
I typically only have one beer at most on the course and it’s usually around the turn.

Well there certainly isn’t anything wrong with that
