Have a big event at CopperMill end of next month! Will be the first time out there. How is the place? I've heard they have gotten some new found funding for the course recently? What's the shape of the course?

It's not a difficult course outside of some small, odd shaped greens. The layout is the best part as you get 6 of each Par 3/4/5.

Take out the big stick and drive the green on #7 & #16

Front 9 greens are a little sketchy. Back 9 greens are in pretty good shape.

Overall condition of the course is better than I would have thought.

They screwed themselves when they sold off the driving range.

They didn’t “sell off” the driving range. The developer owned the property the range was on. He wanted 1mill$ for it. The HOA could not afford the price tag at that time. It now has about 30 new homes on it.

Doesn’t really matter how it happened. They don’t have a range which makes that course less desirable that the others surrounding it

Course is in decent shape...greens are dormant and getting bare but that’s what happens during the winter. Greens will be fine once the temperature rises again

The obligatory Copper Mill thread that comes up every three months or so on this board where you’ll get so many different opinions and observations. This is arguably the most inconsistent course I’ve ever seen.

The greens were in desperate need for sanding and water 2 weeks ago and the ball was bouncing like I was putting at City Park.

This.

I played Saturday, and thought the greens were in rough shape especially when compared to its neighbor Beaver.

On many putts I decided to just go for the lag and not bother with accuracy, because it looked like Freddy Kruger face between me and the cup.

I don't know why they don't turn that field area between the clubhouse and the practice green into a practice area. Maybe make another practice green or something. The one practice green they have gets really crowded.

Practice greens cost money that they don’t have. prob 25-50k depending on size for a green complex.
But you could keep it mown and have a short game range there.
